Updating to RRF 3.3
-
Hey all,
Looking to update to 3.3 for some features that would be useful for my E3D Toolchanger.
Can anyone tell me if there is anything config change wise I need to look out for with the update?
And as I run in SBC mode the update if via sudo commands is that correct?
Thanks.
-
You don't mention which version you;re updating from, but you should check the release notes for all the versions in between yours and the one you're going to.
https://github.com/Duet3D/RepRapFirmware/wiki/Changelog-RRF-3.x#reprapfirmware-33
And yes, sudo apt update and sudo apt upgrade should get you up to date to 3.3 if you're on the stable channel.
-
Coming from 3.2
I've had a look at the release notes but it just a wall of text and hard to understand.
Just want to know if there are any big gcode changes that will break something if I update.
-
@rushmere3d read at least the Upgrade Notes section for release 3.3. You can skip the new features and bug fixes lists.
-
@rushmere3d You can make a new config with the configtool and compare it with your current config.
-
Hey all,
So I've gone ahead and updated, no issues so far.
But Settings-General still shows DWC as 3.2.2, do I need to update this manually?
Thanks.

I suggest you update by uploading the full zip file to the system tab in DWC.
https://github.com/Duet3D/RepRapFirmware/releases/download/3.3/Duet2and3Firmware-3.3.zip
That should get everything up to date.
-
This is ok to do when running in SBC mode right?
Can't I updated just the DWC with a .zip?
Thanks.
-
No in that case ity should be getting updated with sudo apt update and Sudo apt upgrade.
Can you share the results of m122 please?

It could just be your web browser cache - try hitting F5, if using Chrome, or control & page refresh.
Mine does not show a DWC update until I force a browser refresh.

Sure, it's odd. As it appears as 3.2.2 first then a F5 shows 3.3.0 but then it doesn't stay as 3.3.0?

F5 fixes it until I reload the page from say a bookmark or close and open the browser.

@rushmere3d clear your cache then

Yep, that's done it.
