@phaedrux should I swap around the x and “move slowly” commands ? Towards the end of the file

That will depend if the end stops will still be lined up or not. If you need to get Y homed first to line up X, is the switch contact area large enough to trigger 5mm away? If it's still going to miss, you can switch the order of the second X and Y moves so that it moves Y first.

You can copy and paste each line of the macro into the gcode console to execute it one at a time for testing to make sure it actually works.

            G1 R1 X0 Y0 Z5 F6000 ; go to 5mm above position of the last print move
            G1 R1 X0 Y0 ; go back to the last print move
            M83 ; relative extruder moves
            G1 E10 F3600 ; extrude 10mm of filament

More of a question than a suggestion....
Theway I read the above is that 10mm of filament will be deposited on top of the last print position. Shouldn't the extrude filament command be first...as a priming step....then move the extruder to the last position to start printing again?
This is a really helpful thread...thanks!

              Evening,

I have done the final wire up and fitted the BLTouch and both X and Y limits.

Been editing the files to get me to where I am as follows,

When I turn on the printer the BL touch deploys and retracts twice and then lights up red self test ?
I can then hit the home all and the y axis will home firstly then followed by the x axis homing after this has completed the print head moves to the centre of the printbed which then starts to rise but the probe does nothing in regards to the homing of the z axis.

I realise I have not put the offsets in for the BLTouch just wanted to get an understanding of how the z homing should work.

Have wired BLTouch as per be true 3d link

              Would appreciate a pointer please.

You've got a few commands duplicated there. You should probably clean those up to prevent future confusion.

It would seem you are using 0,0 as bed center? Just checking.

You may want to add a G1 X Y move before the G30 to place the probe in the same location as you do in homeall for consistency, unless you have different plans for using homez alone in certain situations. That's valid, but just be aware that G28 and G28 Z will give you very different results.

You're unbinding heater pin 7, but then you're targeting servo 3 in your deploy and retract commands. I think this is the reason the probe isn't doing anything. If you are actually using pin 7, then change the servo commands to be P7 instead of P3.

Did you test the deploy and retract macros? What happens if you send M401 and M402? (should be deploy and retract)

Use this procedure for safely testing your probe. https://duet3d.dozuki.com/Wiki/Test_and_calibrate_the_Z_probe

                    Evening all,
Now have signs of life from the BL touch on hitting the home button the bed lowers 15mm the y axis then homes followed by the x axis homing and then the printhead moves to the middle of the machine and deploys the probe and upon touching the bed and retracting the table lowers 15mm again.
Its a little hit and miss as sometimes when I turn the machine on the bl will just flash red and will not deploy at the z axis homing stage.
If I actually deploy the prove manually after one of these instances but prior to powering the machine on everything seems to be ok ?

Some people add a command to reset the BLTouch out of an error state, before using it for probing. You can add this command in homez.g and homeall.g (before the G30 command), and if you wish in bed.g. It's an M280 command but I forget the details. You may need a short G4 delay command after it, to make sure that the reset happens before the firmware tries to deploy the probe.

@stevo said in Pay for config / json files for my corexy printer build.:

when I turn the machine on the bl will just flash red and will not deploy at the z axis homing stage.

Try adding this to the end of your config.g to clear any BLTouch errors and retract the pin just in case.

You've still got some probe settings duplicated in the endstops and zprobe section.

Just wanted to ask when the printer has finished its task how / where do I ask it to lower the bed and come back to the homing corner minima on x and y to cool print head down bearing in mind my origin is the centre of the build plate.

@stevo If I was being really pedantic I'd say that you have disabled thermostatic mode for your part cooling fan (M106 P0 H-1) which is fine, but the comment after says "Thermostatic control is turned on" (should say "off").

But I'm not feeling pedantic so I won't make that comment.

Seriously, nothing leaps out as being obviously amiss. I think you are at the stage of playing around with things to see if the end result looks any better or can be printed faster without degrading quality. One good thing about Duet is that you can play around with things "one the fly".

If you want, you can give your heaters and fans names for example such as "Hot end" rather than the default "heater 1" (M305 "S") or "Part fan" rather than "fan 0" (M106 "C").

You could try firmware retraction (G10 /G11). It won't work any better than your slicer but you can play around with it "on the fly" which is a far easier way to tune the retraction settings.

You could also play around with pressure advance (M572).

I have been tinkering with the driver speed settings in the config file only would this have any effect on the bltouch operation as when the x and y axis has homed and the head moves to the centre the bed raises a little before the bltouch has lowered the pin then changes its mind and lowers the bed.
                                        The bltouch then flashes red

You can add a bit of a pause delay to the probe movements with M558 R0.5. This gives the BLTouch a half second chance to settle before starting to probe.

                                            Afternoon everyone,
I wonder if I could seek some clarification please Part cooling fan and hot end fan operate as they should during the print apart from the part cooling fan not turning off when the print has finished which I'm guessing I need to add a line to my S3D end code this is what I have in the config g file .
