Duet 3 Mini 5+ unable to connect via browser

@LevelFun Sorry about that. Unfortunately they are being sent out as fast as they are being produced. Hopefully it won't be much longer.
-
@Phaedrux Any updates on when stock is being sent out? Still awaiting the replacement for my faulty board. Thanks in advance.

Request that your original board be repaired since it is just solder joint failures. Maybe that is quicker than waiting for a repalcement?

@timcurtis67 Were that an option to begin with, I would have, but the only option provided was to return for a replacement.
-
@LevelFun the next run is starting this week (delayed by about 3 weeks for various reasons). We have been trying to give all our resellers a chance to purchase boards as well so we have not been able to send Filastruder any recently.
We will be sending them some ASAP and I am sure they will be sending you a replacement straight after that!

@dc42 - is there a way to tell based on a serial number or any other marking if my board has the same problem?
It's a new printer that's been operating for something like a week. It did a couple prints, but mostly around calibration, so nothing too long.
Yesterday, I launched a 2 hour print and after about 70 minutes, the printer froze in place and DWC reported it couldn't find the gcode file anymore.
After a reboot of the machine, I couldn't connect to it anymore. YAT showed an IP was properly assigned, but I couldn't list any files on the SD card.
Interestingly enough, when I ran M21 - I got a positive answer that the card was mounted and I could again run the printer.
I'll be doing more stress testing today, but wanted to see if there is another way to be sure that's the issue.
-
@pkos, it likely has the same issue. I'm sorry for the inconvenience, and I authorise a warranty replacement.
-
Understood. I'll talk to E3D to get a replacement.
Thank you

@dc42 Hi unfortunately my Mini 5+ appears to have the same problem as Pkos... earlier today it got stuck and was no more reachable... after many tries of power off finally it came back... but by time to time it does not list the files (system / marco) and does not respond anymore to http... sad ...

@oc_geek Would you be able to start a new thread so we can do some basic troubleshooting and if required use that thread as your warranty claim? Thanks.
-
Not to necro the thread too much, but is there anything a person with a hot air soldering station can do?
It seems like the stock for those minis won't be available again for another month or so. -

It seems like the stock for those minis won't be available again for another month or so.Our assemblers are currently building and testing a large batch of Duet 3 Minis. Deliveries to our resellers should be in full flow next week. They have been using our second-generation CAN-based Automatic Test equipment since the start of this week to speed up testing. This is the prototype:
The lid on the top right holds the Duet 3 Mini under test down to make contact with the pogo pins. The power resistors at the top provide loads for the heater/fan outputs, and the bank of inductors on the left simulate stepper motors without producing noise. The Duet 3 Mini at front centre runs the tests. At the back (not visible) are CAN-connected boards that measure motor currents and I/O voltages. Ignore the MB6HC board at the front, I was using it to adapt the ATE firmware to test MB6HC boards too.

It seems like the stock for those minis won't be available again for another month or so.Yes, all it needs is a no-clean flux pen and hot air equipment. If you were in the UK, I would have volunteered to repair your board already. I have repaired about ten pre-production boards in this way.

Well, if it's next week, I'll wait patiently Don't want to mess the board up even more before I have the replacement. I mean it does turn on once every 10 times or so and even allows me to print something as long as I have cooling fans cooling the board.
EDIT: Sweet rig by the way.

Would this problem still be a issue if your running the board off a SBC. Was just thinking folks waiting for replacement stock may be able to run off a Pi ??
Just a idea ! -
@lodger That would work
I never think about adding an SBC to the Duet, since the main reason I use a duet is the standalone mode. I like the simplicity of it so much, it would feel weird to tarnish the Duet with a pi
But yes, if I won't hear from E3D anytime soon, I will either ask what should be resoldered exactly (I have all I need I believe) or add an SBC.
For now, I keep playing with the board when it actually boots up to test 3.3b1 - and I am seeing some issues there (like the 12864 screen doesn't work with 3.2.2 config anymore with an error saying X2 is too low a value).

@Phaedrux It happened again -> opened a thread on it
