      Hi,

I use a dual Z axis on my machine with 2 1XD board for auto alignement at start.

There is a way to stop the machine if one of the 2 motors doesn't move ?

I use 2 nema 23 with brake and encoder and leadshine cs1 d507s as driver

      Thanks !

So there are times when one of your Z steppers doesn't turn?

          When is that happening?

          Thanks.

@tom33 Well, I had the same problem with two Nema23 motors on the Y-axis. It ripped apart my CNC machine.
What does the leadshine provide (unknown driver for me) about cross-referencing the encoder signals?
Does it have an error output-signal you could link (in series) with the other drivers enable signal?

                  cs1 d507s as

looking at the data sheet there is an Alarm output (which you could connect to the Duet to pause the machine using a trigger. There is also a reset input which you could connect to a IO output to reset the alarm if you wanted to be able to do that.
