      hi,
      Currently looking to install a webcam on my printer. Was thinking of using Sannce I21AG mentioned on the wiki, but that's unavailable in my location. Are there any similar alternatives? Can I use any of the newer Sannce cameras?

        @Marshalldog DuetWebControl connects directly to the IP camera from your browser to display the camera feed. If the newer cameras use the same protocol then I expect they will be compatible. Can you link to an alternative you were considering? @chrishamm can confirm the compatible protocol(s).

          @Marshalldog
          You need a camera that can output a mjpeg stream. Some cheap cameras can only stream rstp, but this cannot be displayed directly in the browser (DWC).

              @Marshalldog that page gives the model number as I71BD. The second row of the table at https://www.ispyconnect.com/camera/sannce suggests that it does support providing a still JPEG image, which is what DWC needs.

                Would be awesome if it was some small formfactor cams (or ones that we could tear down and make new housings for), so we would make some neat "easy to tuck away" soulutions! "All" the ones that's verified working are so huge their borderline impossible to mount inside a build chamber.

                Something like this for instance

                  @T3P3Tony @Marshalldog Most webcam work well with Linux SBCs, they just need to implement the USB UVC standard. I think most newer cameras do this.

                    @Exerqtor Maybe an esp32cam based solution would work? https://forum.duet3d.com/topic/24024/cheapest-wifi-webcam-esp32-ov2640-camera?_=1673342139324

                      Interesting, as long as i don't have a huge monstrosity or have to use a SBC i'm happy 🤣

                        When I must use a camera, I use an old cell phone that is programmed to shoot a photo every minute or so (with time stamping on each image), or trigger the camera with a bluetooth button that snaps a picture at every layer change. I use an Android phone so the photos get uploaded to Google Photos as soon as they are snapped, so I can see the images anywhere, with any web browser. The phone camera is better than any web cam or RPi camera module and this use keeps the phone out of the landfill. The still photos can easily be turned into time lapse video.

                              I received the camera "sannce I71BD" but I can't get the device to connect to wifi. I'll provide another update if anything changes

                                Weird Issue with the sannce I71BD,
                                I've been trying to get the camera to connect to my router and I got it to work (under weird conditions). Usually, I have my wireless network 2.4ghz security set to WPA2 (which the camera SUPPOSEDLY supports). I tried for hours to get the camera to connect to the wifi network but it consistently failed. I changed the network security to WPA + WPA2 the camera connected and worked immediately. That implies that the camera only works with WPA (which is insecure). I've contacted the manufacturers to figure out the problem but won't be hearing back from them until the end of the Chinese new year (according to the automatic email). I'll provide another update if anything changes
