RE: is my bed crooked?
does look like it may be warped ... if it level with 3 axis there so much it can do ...

RE: The Mean Machine
Here a few updates after I swapped my y axis , it working good , still need to modify my motor mount

RE: Picking an SSR or a MOSFET
@Snippy this is what i run on my printer , they have been reliable so far .

RE: Benchy „existing in two different universes“
@3DinoPrint the more money you throw at it , the faster and better it print as well, that my experience with my custom build .
-
Your favorite test print .
Well there the usual benchy but one of my fave to see if the project is heading in the right way is to print a terminator t800 head with no support. Here the last attempt 10% infill with lightning infill . 75mm/sec for speed . Was comparing it to the last one I did and huge improvement .

RE: To SSR or not to SSR
@Snippy Be very careful with the cheap chinese SSR , quality is really random .
i use these here for my heat bed and hotend

RE: Want input on frame design
most of my frame is 2040 and some 2020 , main cube is made of 500x500x1000 2040 with a few reinforcement in middle and other place , with a mix of 2040 and 2020 , this screenshot aint up to date fully unfortunately , i need one of these days to update everything !

RE: Low inductance nema17 ?
Well i received the new nema 17 today and installed then , very close of achieving the speed i want , i did double my acceleration from 9-10k to 19k . only things stopping me right now i think is the duet 3 version i have that only support 32V , if i had the newer version that support 48V i would have achieve my goal here . i j ust need to tweak my printer a bit more and this build will be done. than after i guess the next build for high speed lol

RE: Want input on frame design
i have a custom build printer 500x500x1000 for main frame , it all made with 2040 extrusion with multiple reinforcement , mostly 2040 or 2020 , hole frame is heavy , but i dont get much vibration .
CNC machine tend to have an heavy base becasue more weight= less vibration ...

Was is worth it ....
Well I reprinted my motor mount with a few tweak , new y axis in , just need more calibration. Kinda enclosed my top too now.
I still need to calibrated my config , him at 800 jerk 10k acceleration, my stepper motor are capped with those number I believe , but I have better one on order . before the swap i was running 6k accFirt benchy 35min , .6 nozzle .25 height. in PETG Him still missing some cooling fan but it still pretty good
here was the input shaper give me for data
Top is old , bottom new hgr15 vs mgn9 + carbon fiber tube about 1/2 to 2/3 lighter.

RE: The Mean Machine
@Dad003 Well ive installed the new rail this week but found that i messed up the heigh of my motor mount unfortunately lol , had made a mistake on some part when i drawn then on my cad software so about 12mm too high, so i had to put some spacer to lift up the rail higher . so got the corrected motor mount reprinted and did a few tweak as well , waiting for more brass heat set insert to swap over again.
so far printing look very good on new motor mount , i think it an improvement from 1-1.5lbs lighter at least than last iteration , ordered 4 more stepper motor with different spec which i think will help me achieve the acceleration and speed him looking . him definitively getting closer to the end of this build i think . Speed an quality.
-
RE: Low inductance nema17 ?
@elmoret thank you that what i was looking for !
ordered 4 , ill definitively reach the speed i want with these .
-
RE: Low inductance nema17 ?
@sebkritikel currently my machine run e3d small but powerful , they have 2.5mh my version of the duet 3 only does up to 32V , so him trying to get the most out of my stepper for torq and speed , the lower inductance improve these at the lower voltage that the reason . why him asking most of my search never seem to give any result .
-
Low inductance nema17 ?
is there such a things has 0.9 degree nema 17 with low phase inductance ? it seem everything i found has over 2.5MH ,
LDO has at 1.8 degree with very low phase inductance somewhere like 1.5 i believe . but i kinda want to keep my 0.9 motor for the resolution

WHen everything was going well ...
Well i was swapping the last few part i made for my printer , took all the old gantry and motor mount out , install new Y axis everything fit well like i had intended then i come to put a new motor mount , and it about 12mm too high , him like how ? so i go back on the pc and reviews my assembly everything is flush , than start checking some dimension and well the rail and block were off in my drawing ... moral of the story double check your part with a caliper before drawing them and printing part that goes with it ...
ended up just putting a a temporary spacer to fit the difference , to get the printer back up and running to reprint the motor mount another time later this week !
i had not expected this ! more part for the part bin at this point i probably have enough part to assemble a few printer lol

RE: The Mean Machine
@T3P3Tony i do , i just need to make a new connector for it

RE: The Mean Machine
Well new y gantry and axis is nearly done building got a few more part to print to be able to swap over , everything is printed in nylon pa6 cf , overall weight savings on moving axis will be from 500g to 1000g at least , I shrinked a few part as well for more weight savings. Hgr 15 weight 750g for 500mm new mgn9 with rail, block and carbon fiber tubing is like 280g .
-
RE: The Mean Machine
Well I have ordered the last few things I need to make the lighter y carriage going in , all the side panel to enclose the top have been printed as well , him now printing the new motor mount , so once I receive those carbon fiber tubing I can swap the whole things and test again . When with a hiwin mgn9 rail with short block . Decide to go with quality components over cheaper one

New fan duct and lift support installed for top
