    • RE: Voron Afterburner Toolhead board

@zapta, yes that is the correct

@dc42, I thought that would be the answer Unfortunately the board wasn't designed with duet in mind so the options are to run two more wires or replace the pt100 with a normal thermister!

@exerqtor thanks I would be grateful for a picture

    • Voron Afterburner Toolhead board

The afterburner toolhead pcb has an onboard thermister for sensing the chamber temperature. It has two connections one of which is labelled AGND i.e analogue ground. I am using a duet pt100 board to connect a PT100 sensor one side of which is also connected to the AGND pin.

Is there likely to be a problem if I connect the AGND pin to both the PT100 input and the e0temp ground pin?

    • RE: RepPanel - A DIY alternative to the PanelDue with WiFi support

@seeul8er I am pleased to say I have found the problem. Basically this is because the Ubuntu version of esptool does not for some reason allow the erase-flash function. I had to download it from the python repository.

So I have again managed to connect to the router. Please could you clarify the format of entry for the printer address. Should it anyway be discovered automatically in the same way as the SSID?

@seeul8er Yes I have tried this but I get a fatal error ESP32 ROM does not support function erase_flash. I am using a ESP32 devkitc v4. Where do you store these parameters?

    • RE: RepPanel - A DIY alternative to the PanelDue with WiFi support

@seeul8er Thanks. I have now managed to connect the Reppanel to my router and it has been given an ip address. However I seem to be unable to connect to the duet. Further more after several tries at typing in the duet ip address the esp32 seem to go into a loop. I am unable to delete the data I've entered. I have tried reflashing the ESP32 but altho the flashing seems to work the old data persists. Is there anyway to delete the existing data?

    • RE: RepPanel - A DIY alternative to the PanelDue with WiFi support

@seeul8er I finally had another go with this and have made some progress. I bought a new capacitive screen from buydisplay. Unfortunately I didn't realise it wasn't 3.3v version to start with but it was easy enough to short the JP bridge. I finally managed to get the reppanel to light up. The touch screen seems to work and I managed to find my router. However the one issue I have left is that I am unable to bring up the keyboard from the top right hand corner to change the password. Do you have any idea why this might happen. All the other Icons seem to open OK.

@PCR Any news on the PCB front ?

@seeul8er Thanks for your reply. I had in fact bought the LCD but the resistive touch version. I've been waiting for the capacitive one to come so that I can have another try. Would there be much reprogramming needed to use the resistive touch version?

      Hi

I have just started trying to get this to work as I have several applications. I have flashed the software onto an ESP devkit and connected your recommended screen. I have not however connected it to a duet board. I had hoped at least part of the screen would show up but I only get a faint outline in the top left hand corner. I suspect I have made a mistake in connecting to the screen but I would be grateful if you would confirm that is the case. Or does the duet need to be connected.

    • RE: PL- 08N sensor and Duet 1.04

but it does seem OK with 12V so I'll stick with that until the new one comes.

Further update - changing to 24v causes the sensor to be triggered all the time. I will try 12V if I can find it on the due5 board

@bearer @dc42 Thanks for your responses and apologies for the delay in coming back to you but the printer is a work in progress.

@dc42 I did need to change the I0 to I1 but I had thought I'd already tried that with the 24V supply. Anyway its next on the list to try again!

@bearer My sensor was supposed to go down to 6V but the probing is unreliable. When you used one did you connect the sensor directly to the board as I have done as its a v1.04.

    • RE: PL- 08N sensor and Duet 1.04

Yes the sensor is connected to the Z - probe connector. The sense output to the in pin. I initially used 24 V from a fan pin to power the sensor. Although the sensor responded to metal it stayed on when I removed the metal I had used as a trigger. I subsequently replaced the 24v with 5v from the panel due connector and it seem to work OK. I haven’t tried homing it yet.

      The config line is

      M558 P5 I0 T18000 F1200 H30

    • PL- 08N sensor and Duet 1.04

I have been trying to connect a PL- 08n proximity sensor to my duet to use it as a Z probe on a Voron. My printer has a 24 V power supply which I have used to power the sensor. However although the sensor triggers it then seems to latch on. I managed to find a reference to this problem elsewhere the solution being to reduce the input voltage to 5V. This seems to work for me also although I cannot see why especially as according to the data sheet the sensor needs a minimum of 6V. Has anyone managed to get this sensor to work with 24V?

    • Smart Effector not flashing on startup

I have been using a smart effector successfully on a Kossel XL for some time. Today when I started printing the probe light did not flash at all. The lighting LEDs and the heating LED worked and I can print as normal. The connectors to the smart effector look OK so the next step will be to take it all apart Has anyone a better idea?

    • My CNC duet 3 experience

I have finally managed to get my Workbee homing properly. I have had a number of issues mainly due to typographical errors in the config.g file. The only way I have been able to track them down is using the program opt/dsf/bin/DuetControlServer as usually the problem has been the duetcontrolserver crashes. The last unsolved error is from the line:-
      M581 X S-1 T0 C0 ; disable trigger for endstop X
and the error is missing parameter T. However it doesn't prevent the homing operation.
I have found that the Raspberry Pi gets very hot without a fan and I have had low voltage errors although they haven't affected operation.
Finally I need a box with fans to put this in so I hope someone will one in the near future

The problem was I forgot to set up a dummy Tool. Without it the CNC setup doesn’t work. I’ve also got the Endstops working so I’m now good to go.

The motor connections on the Duet 3 wiring diagram have different nos for the coils A1 A2 B1 B2 to the Duet V1 etc 1A 1B 2A 2B although the colours stay the same on both wiring diagrams. Could someone please clarify whether the coils are A & B or 1 & 2 on the Duet 3?

    • RE: Duet Software Framework

@T3P3Tony Yes apologies I should have mentioned that. The next error message I received said the name set by M550 had to be exactly the same as the host name. Is this a function of RRF 3 or the duet framework setup?
