@JoergS5 I am very interested in your progress so far. I am about to build a mini mill and will at some stage get a 4th and 5th axis so if you need help testing let me know. I will most definitely be 3-4 months off getting it done as funds don’t allow it at the moment so the project is being drip fed

RE: Duet versus Bambu
@Exerqtor I have to agree. I have a few people who run klipper and the screen does make me a bit jealous.

RE: watercooled hotend for SmartEffector?
@o_lampe https://youprintin3d.de use to do one. Maybe ask them and see if they can still do them as I can not find them on their website. They were a v6 heatsink that was watercooled

RE: Magnetic Encoder Maximum Cable Length
@dc42 ah bugger. It’s just where I currently have the two boards mounted is inside an electrical part off the side of the printer meaning they would need to be about 650-700mm long. I guess I could move the boards. Just a bit worried about heat as I will be heating the chamber at some stage

RE: Magnetic Encoder Maximum Cable Length
@dc42 ah bugger. That might be a pain. If I was to use shielded ribbon cable would that work? I see you can buy it, which I never knew about

RE: Magnetic Encoder Maximum Cable Length
@dc42 awesome thank you. Are they any better than the quadrature encoders I currently have. I believe they are 2000cpr

RE: CPAP/Centrifugal Blower
Simone has already done a write up on how to set them up.

There is a speed output pin which is pin PG.

Magnetic Encoder Maximum Cable Length
Hey Everyone,
What’s the maximum recommended length for the ribbon cable?
Cheers

RE: Scanning Z probe support in RRF 3.5
@oliof missed that. Thanks for pointing that out

RE: support for simpleFOC library (brushless motors)
What does Odrive use for their brushless motor control? I believe looking at the docs for them and Duet, they are going to be supporting Odrive

RE: v3 improvements
@dc42 is there anyway we can “upgrade” the older versions to the newer? Mine has never worked very well even with a very short path between it and the extruder

RE: Scanning Z probe support in RRF 3.5
@dc42 are you guys likely to release a toolboard with a i2c connector?
-
RE: Scanning Z probe support in RRF 3.5
@dc42 cool. It is looking very promising though. Awesome work. I have a 400x400mm bed and always have issues with bed flatness especially when you really heat it up to do nylons etc
-
RE: Scanning Z probe support in RRF 3.5
@dc42 when you did that, was the bed warm or are you still playing around with it when it’s cold?
-
RE: Scanning Z probe support in RRF 3.5
@dc42 do you guys think you will release a new version of the tool board where you put the i2c bus to a plug? Had another look tonight and there is no way I would be able to solder that
-
RE: Scanning Z probe support in RRF 3.5
@dc42 I have a 1.1 revision board which has the SWD Out plug where you have soldered onto. I am not going to do it now as I will wait for you to finish testing but where would I hook it up to?

RE: Scanning Z probe support in RRF 3.5
@dc42 Jeepers, these sausage fingers will struggle with that. Might have to ask a mate. It is hard to see where the upper connection point is from that photo

RE: 1HCL assisted open loop
@dc42 yeah it definitely is. I was printing with it last night before playing with the assisted open loop.
When do you think you will put some documentation up regarding the acceleration and velocity parameters?
-
RE: 1HCL assisted open loop
@dc42 ok so all I need to do is change the homing files so that after they do the positioning move, they go into assisted open loop instead of closed?
-
RE: 1HCL assisted open loop
@dc42 One other thing, do you still need to do the positioning calibration with the assisted open loop
