You could try using a DC UPS. @deckingman who unfortunately passed away but you can search his posts, where I pointed him to one we used on remote sites to keep PLC’s and RTU’s up for compliance in pump stations. We used Phoenix contact UPS’s but he had good luck with a mean well one. The beauty of the DC UPS, is everything is 24VDC, they are cheaper than a traditional one, and you can change the size of the battery you need

@BenzinLord3 i run two of those motors with 2 1HCL boards and my encoder cables came pre terminated. See if they can send you some pre terminated ones

@JoergS5 I am very interested in your progress so far. I am about to build a mini mill and will at some stage get a 4th and 5th axis so if you need help testing let me know. I will most definitely be 3-4 months off getting it done as funds don’t allow it at the moment so the project is being drip fed

@Exerqtor I have to agree. I have a few people who run klipper and the screen does make me a bit jealous.

@dc42 ah bugger. It’s just where I currently have the two boards mounted is inside an electrical part off the side of the printer meaning they would need to be about 650-700mm long. I guess I could move the boards. Just a bit worried about heat as I will be heating the chamber at some stage

@dc42 ah bugger. That might be a pain. If I was to use shielded ribbon cable would that work? I see you can buy it, which I never knew about

What does Odrive use for their brushless motor control? I believe looking at the docs for them and Duet, they are going to be supporting Odrive

@dc42 is there anyway we can “upgrade” the older versions to the newer? Mine has never worked very well even with a very short path between it and the extruder

@dc42 are you guys likely to release a toolboard with a i2c connector?

@dc42 cool. It is looking very promising though. Awesome work. I have a 400x400mm bed and always have issues with bed flatness especially when you really heat it up to do nylons etc

@dc42 when you did that, was the bed warm or are you still playing around with it when it’s cold?
