@Valveman you would normally connect a 12V relay to an OUT connector. You didn't say which board you are using, however the medium-current OUT connectors on Duet 3 boards can be jumpered to be provided with 12V power, which would be correct for your 12V relay. You would control it using the M950 command to set up a GpOut port on that output pin and then M42 commands to turn it on and off.

Thanks for the great advice. Hope to finish an ongoing project this weekend, then plan to update. Don't want to take any unnecessary chances, that might cause unexpected results.

No, that compensates for when you can't build your machine square! G68 is what you need to use, but it will depend how the file is set up as to whether it's easy to predict where it will actually do the engraving. It's best to start with the work square, and add the rotation after.

By the way, how can I post the code for you all to examine?

Add .txt to the end of the gcode file's name, then upload it here, so long as it's under a couple of MB.

@Valveman For engraving front plates I'd use openScad. Very old school, I know.
I came from SolidWorks and Fusion, but the free license of fusion was getting harder to extend and the functionality got limitted.
Then used FreeCad, but found it too complicated. (didn't try to find tutorials, tho)

OpenScad is like a programming language and that's where I feel comfortable with. (IT background)
Plenty of libraries exist, e.g. fonts, threading and screw libraries.

Usually I export .dxf files and refine them in inkscape for my CO2-laser, but it has a CNC output module for sure.

Either way you'll have a long learning curve ahead of you, might as well wait for lightburn to come up with their CNC version.

I cannot explain when or how, but config.g was gone. It took my [digital] son all of five minutes to find [that] to be the whole problem. Backups took care of it.
I just wish I had video of exactly how I caused it.
I must slow down and be much more careful. Now I can continue with my spindle.

The simplest solution to my want of incorporating photo-optic end-stops, was to add a separate 24v supply for the 'PM-K45-P-C3' PNP sensor. Then simply connect its collector-output to one of the opto-isolated channels 5 thru 8. Testing of the X-axis was flawless and most accurate. No more mechanical switches. Now I just need to fabricate the mounting for all axes.
