@chrishamm @Falcounet Will OP's original ask be implemented in DSF-Python? We are not only interested in updated global variables directly, but other values within the ObjectModel as well. While a bit dangerous, allowing a way to directly interact with the ObjectModel could be extremely powerful.

@oozeBot Yes I agree there is some lack of documentation ... and for now it mainly requires reading the code.
But on other hand, an IDE would suggest you the class attributes/properties and I believe the names are still pretty explicit.

For posterity - this must have been an issue with Python as upgrading to 3.12 resolved the issue I just reported.

@oozeBot I suggest first to update to dsf-python 3.4.6 as I fixed CodeParameter.is_expression in that version.

In your exemple cde is an instance of dsf.commands.code.Code.
The Code class has a parameters attributes (eg : cde.parameters) which is a List containing the GCode parameters.

The class dsf.commands.code_parameter.CodeParameter has the following attributes :

letter : which contains the letter of the Gcode (eg : H) is_expression : which return either if the parameter value is an expression or not string_value : The value of the gcode as a string

If you want to parse an expression, you have to use the generic function evaluate_expression over the string_value

As an example :

Yes, running on a 14" M2 MacBook Pro using MacOS Ventura. Though I did download the .NET Runtime, I didn't install it; if I run dotnet --list-sdks I get command not found: dotnet. I also got an error on libhostfxr.dylib, but I seem to have got around it another way. I didn't compile CrcAppender.

I'll check through the instructions when I get a chance, and see if I can work out why.

If you add /usr/local/bin to the PATH here, then you don't have to start Eclipse from the terminal (to get the shell's PATH environment variable), and it will find CrcAppender.

I just got an Adafruit FT232H Breakout board. I am realizing that testing this is not as easy as I first though. Most of the simple microcontroller firmwares like Arduino / Circuit Python lack direct support for SPI Slave mode on the newer microcontrollers. They all seem to think that people only want to use their microcontroller as the SPI Master. That said it looks like the original AVR based Arduino's have good documentation on how to initialize SPI Slave through the SPI Registers. I have an Arduino MEGA from my original RAMPS 1.4 controller from 2014. Hopefully it is still working and I can get the SPI Bus speed up to 8Mhz in Slave mode.

My plan is to have the FT232H enable the CS and then transmit to the MEGA the current timestamp with as high of accuracy as I can get. It will then disable the CS. It will then wait for the MEGA to set its interrupt pin high. The MEGA will sleep for 1ms and then set its interrupt pin high. The FT232H will then enable the CS and read from the MEGA the last timestamp. It will then disable the CS and finally print on the CLI the current timestamp, the timestamp it received from the MEGA, and the difference minus 1ms (accounting for the MEGA's programmed delay). This should be the latency. I will have this whole process running in a loop. Depending on how much latency I am seeing, Ill probably have it loop like this 10 times a second. Then I will run this while doing other things on the USB bus, (moving a mouse, typing, accessing a USB2 thumb drive, accessing a USB3 thumb drive, etc.) Ill also test this with the FT232H going through a hub as well as being directly connected to the motherboards USB host controller. Ill take the output and generate some nice pretty graphs.

@Dakota What I did a while ago when I was faced the same issue is :

To feed 3.3V (or whatever voltage is safe for your GPIO pin to set it to TRUE state) on the pin number 22 on the connector Run gpioget in a loop to all the pins and store the ones that reports 1 Connect the pin number 22 to GND Run gpioget in a loop to all the pins again and store the ones that reports 0 Make an intersection on the results from #2 and 3#

If you are lucky, you get only one result but if not, it should reduce the number of potential candidates pins.

However, be careful because there is some pins driven by the system so they can get a random state when you poll them.

@job123 RepRapFirmware needs to be running on the Duet for you to do anything with it of course, including connect to its API over HTTP. On the SBC you do not need any specific software form us.

For now, I worked around it by querying a specific variable using the M409 command, which is not the most elegant way of doing it. I'll give your new solution a go right away.

@Phaedrux I found my mistake. I thought I had no start code for my extruder in cura. I even looked it up. But cura didn't display anything.

Turns out I did have one.
However, the start code was not displayed unless I clicked on the input box.

And in my startcode there were the bad gcode commands.

Now that I removed them, the gcode file looks normal again and everything works as it should.

@dc42 I have too weak power supply so I have to heat chamber only if bed is not heated. Earlier I did it in firmware but it will be nice to do it in Python script.
