Stringing problem corexy
-
Hi
As you can see in the picture I have problemswith my direct BMG corexy, these are my config:
-
@Dav Insufficient retraction.
-
You'd be better off using the built in firmware retraction so you can tweak it during printing until it no longer leaves any strings etc

it's a direct, I have less than 10cm of bowden tube between bmg and hotend

So what? The stringing is caused by filament continuing to ooze during travel moves. The 0.8mm of retraction you are using insufficient to compensate for this. The amount of retraction you need (as well as the speed of retraction) is a function of many things, not just the length of Bowden tube. Temperature, filament type, print speed, travel speed, whether you use pressure advance etc, can all play a part.

Adjust retraction or lower hotend temp. Both effect stringing.

@Dav Please post config.g and send M115 to your Duet, then post the response. What material is this (PLA?) and what temperature do you print at?

am having issue with stringing too with TPU....can someone clarify how to approach a setting for retraction speed? I know from past experience if I make my Dyze Xtruder retract too fast it will clog....
-
@imrj I have been printing Ninjatek Armadillo TPU. E3D Aero extruder 0.4mm nozzle.
Base was a PLA profile, tweaked heat settings to suit, 220 / 40. Retraction 50mm/s length 1mm
Print speed 55mm/s, infill 45mm/s, walls 27.5mm/s, top/bottom speed 15mm/sHTH

the max retraction speed for the Dyze is 25mm/s , but i will try the other settings....i can always go higher than 25 but am sure will be clogging time
