I am currenty trying to make a breakboard to be able to swap beetween ethernet module and esp-07s module, so far did a pin trace and came to have this setup

just in case you're not aware, the full schematic and kicad files for the duet are available: https://github.com/Duet3D/Duet-2-Hardware/tree/master/Duet2/Duet2v1.04

well, finally got the pcb, and found that I made a mistake, but got around it.

Could program the esp from yat M997 S1, and got IP.

Do you think that I could get any trouble using this board?

@apak That's awesome, and just what I was trying to do.

Do you have an update schematic (after fixing your mistake) so I can make up a board for myself?

                Many thanks

@apak if you're able to update the firmware and get an IP you should be fine.
On the LPC/STM port any issues we normally see with wiring etc prevent users getting that far, so for you to get an IP you'll be fine

@apak If you ever want to do this kind of thing again, you might want to use these surface-mount 0.1" header pins.

That way you could make the board just as big as the WiFi module instead of making it twice as big.

This is awesome project. Congratulations on getting it working.

@alankilian so I just solder those on the botton layer and the esp07s on top, nice, lest see if the footprint is available at easyEDA

Will the surface mount headers idea still allow the ethernet module to fit if required?

I only ask as the ethernet headers on my Duet are 1/height.

It will almost certainly generate more EMI than the on-board WiFi module, so getting CE certification for a printer using it might be difficult. Other than that, I don't see any problems. The critical traces to keep short are the ground traces and the SPI traces.
