    • RE: Using WiFi and Ethernet networking setting in universal config.g

@flobler said in Using WiFi and Ethernet networking setting in universal config.g:

Can we define the network settings to use dynamic IPs for both versions of the board (WiFi and Ethernet) within one config or would this cause issues? This was my idea:
      ; Networking
      M552 P0.0.0.0 S1

don't need P0.0.0.0 just M552 S1 to enable networking with dhcp client. (for both ethernet and wifi)

as a one-off, and prior to to M552, you need to run M587 for the wifi board to tell it which network to connect to.

i believe newer firmwares can use run-once.g for this?

      https://duet3d.dozuki.com/Wiki/Macros#Section_runonce_g

edit: duettest.local would imply you've used old config from factory, should be just duet.local and its set by M550

edit2: one option would be to use conditional gcode to run M589 to create an access point and allow user to connect to the duet to input wifi stuff wihtout using the serial console or removing sd card to edit files.

@JadonM said in No serial connection:

Just to confirm, you need to have both the PanelDue and the Arduino hooked up at the same time for this sketch to work.

much clearer, that was the point i was trying to make 👍

edit: i suppose an M409/M408 on layer changes, or object changes in the sliced file might work, if the response is also sent to the PanelDue port.

    • RE: Using another Raspberry SPI Shield

You can change the device node, which determine the CS pin. The extra trfrdy pin is configurable.

But it's not adviced to share the spi bus, probably better off using the second spi bus on the pi.

In any case see /opt/dsf/conf/config.json or something similar

    • RE: No serial connection

@danny_v1 yeah, PanelDue switch from M408 to M409 at some point, i.e. taking advantage of the object model available in RRF 3.x - so you'll need to match the PanelDue firmware version to the Sketch so they assume the same type of PanelDue communication.

You can upgade the PanelDue firmware, but you'll also need to run RRF firmware 3.x something, refer to the PanelDue release notes.

Conversely, can it be just re-surface mounted?

if the traces on the board are intact, all you need is a soldering iron and some flux to install a new one.

but "broke cleanly free" sounds like it has potential to damage the board - if you upload a picture or two of the area we should be able to evaluate any damage.

@DaveA yeah, I'm merely suggesting you load the file using M23 as a workaround to refreshing the web interface as s3d's http request can't interact with dwc in your browser.

again there is a lengthy thread detailing this if you go searching

not sure about refresh, but you should be able to select the uploaded file. check out the simplify3d script in a topic here somewhere

silicone wire and some wirewrap wire (and probably other types) strips relatively easily with just fingernails - no big deal tbh

but I'm Showing Bossa port instead of Duet 3D Printer Electronics in Device Manager.

I'm hesitant to start the process of reinstalling firmware, but that might be my only option.

Its your only option, and the bossa port is a good sign the hardware is good.

      About BLTouch connector

I used the 5 pin version of this recently. https://www.aliexpress.com/item/4000708135064.html seems to fit both the genuine and cloned BL Touch, but the catches are just ever so slightly smaller so its not as secure as the genuine wire. Seems to be on par with the cloned though.

A dab of hotglue or silastic for peace of mind might be a good idea, or to get genuine JST parts from a repurable source..
