The E3D Z homing file is wrong, it should use G30. It does in the set of Duet 2 RRF3 files for the TC that I posted in the E3D forum.

On Duet 3 we removed the built-in support for 5V fans, because we now provide a built-in regulator for 12V fans, and because a number of users have wrecked their Duets because of shorts between VIN and +5V in the fan wiring. I'm not aware of any good reason to use 5V fans rather than 12V fans, other than that you might have some already.

L2 masy blow if either U3, C6 or C12 fails. Unless C6 or C12 looks damaged, my guess is U3.

which makes some great points about feasibility. However, if the offset was ONLY applied to Z hops and automatic bed mesh compensation, wouldn't the solution be much simpler? Although, I suppose Z hops are configured in the slicer, so that might be weird, but the bed mesh compensation should be able to use it I would think.

@dc42 Yes that is what I observed. I will go repeat my tests and report what I find. Might be a bit since its in the FRC robotics shop and we are in the middle of build season. I will try to get it done in the next week or two. Thank you for being patient with me haha

Unfortunately I was unable to find a datasheet for the WM7040-24V driver. I think you will need to supply it with permanent 5V power (possibly from the PanelDue connector of the Duet) and then use the EN and/or VSR inputs to control it. Depending on the type of input, you may be able to connect the FAN- output on the Duet to the EN input and also connect a pullup resistor between EN and +5V.
