After going through all my settings, I reformatted my SD card, And re-loaded all my setup files. After I probed the bed and was ready to run a test print. I went to wipe the nozzle on my Hemera. And it moved just a small amount. I instantly knew I just found the problem. I re-tightened my nozzle and have now printed about 40 hours no problems. Just love my Duet 2 wifi board. Have a great 2024 Duet3D.

Strange problem.
Hi Duet3D, Hope all is well.
Two days ago my 3d printer started doing something very strange.
It started pausing in the middle of the print job. I have read a few posts that sound exactly like my problem. Pausing at random places in the print.
And the only error you see is a "Resume state saved" "print paused due to low voltage" I have looked at all the diagnostics and there really is no errors that I see. No overvoltage or under voltage errors.
My cpu is staying within the safe temp. range. I have tried different slicers. Different outlets. I have watched the voltage and temps as its running and everything seems fine.
I have never updated my firmware. I was always a bit nervous about doing that. But I do think I could possibly do it after all my reading. Watched a few videos as well.
My machine is an Elite Machine Works Ultimate Xl. It has really good quality components on it. The power supply is a Mean well 24volt 220 watt medical power supply. Like I said the machine has been running really well for at least a solid year. I also have not run the machine that hard.
I mostly print small items that are done after a few hours. If any one has any ideas I would be so happy.
I am sad that my printer is not working. Thanks so much. If any one needs my config. diagnostic pages I can send them.
p.s Firmware is 2.05.1 Duet wifi 1.02 or later.

RE: Figured out something important.
@Phaedrux Hi Phaedrux, Just fired up my Duet. I know if I would have upgraded my firmware These setting prob. would have been updated.
I was always a little hesitant to update my firmware. It worked so perfect with smaller files around 1mb.
I think I also read some where that a few people had a few problems updating the firmware. If you recommend me upgrading I would definitely do it.
Here are my settings: Firmware reprap 2.05.1
web control 2.0.7
Duet wifi 1.02 or later
Duet wifi server version 1.23Always impressed reading all your info. Phaedrux.

Figured out something important.
Hi there Duet users, For quite awhile I have had this loading file error, This error was not allowing files to load that were around 3 to 5 mb or larger. I was so frustrated. Most of my own drawing's/ models were over 5mb. I tried everything and asked lots of people for suggestions. I read every post and forum I could find. It seemed that not many other users were having this issue. But I did read about a few users that were having the same exact problem. So I tried everything possible. I do feel that resoldering all the pins on the wifi module and the sd card holder did help the data transfer. But still it was struggling to load larger files. So I read all the information about ajax time out errors. Also sometimes I could load a smaller file around 1 mb then as soon as it loaded, I would send the larger file of around 5mb. Many times this would let the larger file load. So I read more about this. Then I wrote down all my settings and started trying different settings in the machine specific communication area on the duet web control page. Took me a number of tests. But I nailed it. Now my files load very quickly. I have now tested this many times so I wanted to share my settings. General tab "5,000 ms" Machine specific commmunication - number of Ajax settings "6 " This was set at 4 and I feel this made the biggest difference. Update interval 250 (ms) Extended status update interval 20(ms) retry threshold for file transfer 350(ms). Now my Duet loads the larger files very fast with no errors. Running ViaCad V12 pro...and Moi3d...SuperSlicer....and my Elite Machine Works UXL. I get some amazing prints using this combination. Thank you Duet3D for making such an awesome product. I love my panel due as well. Happy New Year 2023. P.s I did read all those tech tips that a Duet tech replied to my posts awhile back. I really appreciated those tips. Peace out from Colorado.

I just re-soldered some pins
Hi Duet users, I have been looking at the pins on the sd card holder and the wifi module for awhile now. I finally got out my surface mount/micro soldring iron. Put some kapton tape down around these areas. Fluxed those pins, Put on my magnifying visor, Turned my solder iron up to 500 degrees. 420 at tip. And re-soldered all those pins. Now when I test this loading procedure it is so much better. The pin with the poorest solder connection was the ground pin. On the wifi module. I truely believe this made a huge improvement. Should have done this months ago. Anywhoo Peace out. p.s. Thingiverse files still load very inconsistently. And I have also read all about this, and their 5 second delay. Or messy files. With way to many vertices. Overall the way this Duet 2 wifi works is so amazing. Just as long as it loads my files. Have fun out there.

RE: Duet 2 wifi struggles to load my files.
@gloomyandy Hi there, I use a number of different cad programs, I draw up items then save as a stl file. Then I send them to simplify 3d, Then send them to my Elite Machine Works UXL. Many files load very quickly and will print perfectly. Many files that I have created will sometimes load or they just thow the network disconnect error. Example. I drew up this nice little part a few days ago. I loaded the file and printed it. Came out beautiful. I deleted the file from the duet. Tried to re-load it. It is so hit or miss. Sometimes it loads. But this intermittent operation is really frustrating. I have tried so many different things. I have never upgraded my firmware though. Capacity. 31.91 GB, free space 31.89 GB, speed 20.00mbytes/sec, cluster size 64kb, -29dbm signal strength. Duet web control 2.0.7, Board duet wifi 1.02 or later, firmware wifi/ethernet 2.05.1, Duet wifi server version 1.23 Any ideas why certain files load perfectly and others will barely load? Sometimes I try to load files from Thingiverse. Some load fine others will never load. So I thought it was a thingiverse problem. When I draw up my own models in my Viacad pro V12. They load more consistently. But many still throw the network disconnect error. Any tips would be so awesome.

Duet 2 wifi struggles to load my files.
Hi Duet users, I was wondering if anyone had any ideas. My Duet 2 wifi has never loaded files very consistently. It is so strange. Some files load instantly. Some files will never load. I can load a file I create from my cad programs. It will load fine and run a nice print. Then If I delete that file and try to re-load. It might load. I can go through my files testing the files that load. Some load instantly. Many that I have even printed before will not load. I have checked everything, And read this forum for many hours studying this. All my testing and checks seem to be fine. My gateway is about two feet from the Duet. -29 dbm signal. 32 gig sd card formatted to fat 32. I have tried a few different sd card's. Nothing seems to fix this very intermittent loading problem. I have looked super close at the soldering. The sd card holder looks fine. But the wifi module the solder looks like it might not have enough solder on a few pads. Its just so strange how it loads so fast with some files. And files over a few mega bytes will never load. Any ideas would be so helpful.

RE: Wire length spec's
@jens55 Thank you for the nice reply. I really appreciate that info. This little duet board sure is amazing. Peace out.

RE: Wire length spec's
Want to make sure i am explaining my project correctly. My printer has a Duet 2 wifi on one side and a 24 volt power supply on the other side. Going to put both the duet and the power supply into one box. This electronic box will sit alongside my containment box. I was thinking about 5 feet of wire would allow me to position the electronic box in a few different locations around my printer. I think everything will be just fine. But just wanted to check.
-
RE: Wire length spec's
@specktech But my power supply will basically be in the same box. So the power will be close to the Duet. Thought I better check before I complete my re-wire. I will make sure to have a nice buffer/space between the boards.

RE: Wire length spec's
@dc42 All of them.... Putting my Ultimate Xl into a containment box. So all the wires have to be longer. Any ideas?
-
Wire length spec's
Hi Duet users and creators, I was wondering if it is okay to lengthen the wire's off my Duet board to around 5 feet. Putting my printer into a containment box. And by having about 5 feet of wire I will have options for the placement of my electronics. Also does the duet have any problems with EMF? Thanks for any info. Peace out.

RE: Having troubles connecting to the Duet 2 wifi
Thank you so much for that tip. I will keep at it till I get it. Watching this video out there that helped me get it the first time. And reading all the documentation, a few times over. This duet is in my Ultimate Xl.

Having troubles connecting to the Duet 2 wifi
I had my duet 2 wifi working before, But now I can't seem to get it to work. When I open the yat terminal. It opens up like 6 com ports one right after the other. Then I can't really do anything. I have been watching the few videos out there. I am really stuck. Bums me out, because I had been using it for about a month. Sure hope I can get it working again. When I go into device manager, I only see two com ports. com port1 and printer port lpt1. When I run the update both ports say device is up to date. Really trying to figure this out. Any ideas out there?
