      After making some research about what this NT stand for, I found that it is used for connecting two different nets to each other like analog ground and digital ground and since I am using Eagle, I wasn't able to understand what on earth this connection for(eagle does not have this specific Net tie thing)

      I was confusing since in the SAM E70 Xplained dev board there wasn't anything like that but later when I went through the Duet3 Schematic I found they want to use the ref ground for specific tasks!

      Anyway, releasing all the CAD file or at least the PCB layers in PDF format will be very nice to help people like me making their own custom board faster!

Clearly, if you say that everything is like that, the problem is either in the MPG itself or in the controller to which it is connected.

      I'm pretty convinced it was the wireless link. The wheel seemed OK, "local" effects (the pendant had a display) were completely reliable, and the Mach controller responded to all other input devices very quickly and cleanly. Also, at one point Mach was ripped out and replaced by TinyG/Chilipeppr. Same problems with pendant.

      Sort of leaves the wireless link.

      Of course, I could really prove that for under $100, by purchasing the exact equivalent pendant, same manufacturer, in wired.

      Just might do that.

      Unfortunately the valve has a stem that doesn't travel vertically when turned (it has a "non-rising valve stem" - first valve I've ever seen like it), and it is a 10 turn valve. Without some sort of feedback - stall detection or pot - I have no way of knowing when the valve is actually closed.

      Thanks for the link. I looked at using buffer sizes larger than the default 2K, however the W5500 has only 32K of buffer space total which has to be divided between the 8 possible sockets. So if you increase the buffer size on one socket, you have to reduce it on others.

      I found that one of the biggest limiting factors is the speed of writing to the SD card. On the Duet WiFi I obtained 3Mbytes/sec upload speed if the Duet main processor threw the data away instead of writing it to SD card. The speeds quoted by the SD card manufacturers are for writing large blocks of data as happens in a digital camera when you take a photo. The Duet doesn't have enough RAM to write such large blocks.

      That would be the ideal - Ethernet where there is a fixed installation and Wi-fi elsewhere.

      That said, the latest firmware iterations have had a lot more stable connections so looking forwards to the best of both worlds!

      Thanks everyone for the info. I tried a new micro sd card, and that didn't help. I then setup Octoprint on an rpi3, plugged that into the duet via USB, and my file upload to the rpi3 is extremely fast.

      Conclusion: there is something either by the Universities network or the Duet's wifi firmware causing issues with uploading to the Duet.

      Now I have Octoprint setup, which I wanted anyways for the webcam streaming. The only problem is I liked DWC more than the Octoprint interface.

      Is there any method of transferring files from the RPI3 running Octoprint to the Duet over USB? That'd be clunky, but if possible then I could use the DWC for everything but uploading files.

      Also out of curiosity, are there plans to sell the Duet Ethernet's daughter board as a standalone? I've seen mention of that on the forums, but I couldn't find anything in the shop. I might just buy the W5500 and make my own circuit in the meantime.
