Tried it this morning and firmware retraction is working just as expected. Yesterday must have just been a glitch (in my head, most likely).

With FSRs the trigger height will always be slightly below zero, and it may vary depending on how close to one of the FSRs the probe point is. I suggest you measure the trigger height at a few points (see https://duet3d.com/wiki/Calibrating_a_delta_printer#Measuring_the_trigger_height)) andf use the results to determine what H corrections you need, if any.

Don't worry about the delta radius being not quite what you expect, unless you have distorted prints. Print a noughts-and-crosses/tic-tac-toe pattern that goes right up to the edges of the printable area, and check that the lines are straight.

I just spent the better part of the afternoon changing out the entire bed assembly from a 200 x 200 to a 320 x 250 Borosilicate glass plate with just the heating unit underneath getting ready to test in a few minutes

I re-did the G31 calibrations with hot-end and bed heated. New G31 Z parameter is now 0.17, and on the first two test prints, the first layer height was excellent. Adhesion on glass is good, and bottom was appropriately smooth.

You are using a microswitch for Z homing. If you increase the Z parameter in your G92 command by 0.18mm, this should get rid of the bed height offset.

You can use the Z probe to do Z homing if you prefer, by using G30 instead of G1 S1/G92. See https://duet3d.com/wiki/Configuring_RepRapFirmware_for_a_Cartesian_printer#Homing_Z_using_a_Z_probe.

Unless you have installed the Duet WiFi in an enclosed space with no ventilation, or right next to your heated bed, it is unlikely to need any active cooling with motor currents up to about 1.8A. You can read the CPU temperature on the web interface, but you need to calibrate it as described in the wiki. Even if the board was overheating, it is unlikely to slow down. I think it's more likely that the Duet is receiving an abnormally high rate of interrupts from one of it input sources, such as the WiFi module.

What are the XZ offset dimensions (in mm, relative to upper surface of and in PCB coordinates) to the IR z probe's notional 'sense axis'?
Dimensions either WRT the PCB bottom left corner or possibly better yet, relative to the IR z probe PCB LH mounting hole would be appreciated.

My own rough estimate: X=12 from LH PCB edge | 9.3 from LH mounting hole center, Z=4 mm from PCB upper surface. N.B. To prevent confusion I'll delete my estimate after you reply.

I see the following from Appendix: Board dimensions and mounting holes for version 1.1 and 1.2 boards on your website, but no positional data for the probe's 'sense-axis' location.

If the bottom left corner of the board is position (0, 0) then other points on the board are at the following (X, Y) coordinates, in mm:

Top right corner (24.0, 17.62)
Mounting hole centres (2.70, 14.92) and (21.11, 14.92)
Mounting hole diameter 2.8

After calculating R - Delta Radius this is my new M665 -

M665 R88 L214.83 B100 H349.50

B is half the size of the glass, 200mm is glass size, so B is 100.

The higher feed rates are for loading and unloading filament. But I rarely use feed rates other than 5 and 100mm/sec. So I agree that most of the available speeds are not useful. What would you like to see instead?

Yeah I think official pictures on the wiki for for the tecnically challenged such as myself might help, especially since anyone can toss a misleading diagram that looks proper enough on the interwebs and someone who doesn't know better could follow it and possibly do some damage.

So. I guess that solves that mystery.. I just checked my config.g file and sure enough 21.82 was set there instead of 1.82.. I didnt change it in between prints though (but maybe several prints before that)….. strange. Barring end-user incompetence, what could it be?!

At that time I started the post, i did not have any adjusting possibilities for the bed

Now I installed a 3Point system for Pre-Adjusting the printbed

Actually I'm fighting with the first print, somehow it shuts down the heaters when I start a print, but that's another Story 🙂

Clearpath, not for your typical printer though. They are pricey but the SDSK known as step direction stepper killers are drop in replacements for steppers. The caveat is your build needs to be large to make them worthwhile as they are Nema 23… I have a build I am planning around them which will use several independent XYZ carriages that move over a large 3x 5 foot fixed build plate using 3to1 gear reduction on linear profile rails and ball screws

They are quite close in length so they should work very well. Definitely pair the most equal length rods with one another. Deltas function on having the closest match to pairs of perfect right angled triangles formed between the arms, linear guides and effector. So the more perfect each pair of triangles are the better. That being said start this way do some calibration, swap them around see what effect it has.
