Im Having issues with G1 XY Combined Movements, I Saw that this Beta Helps with Timing for the Expansion 1XD Boards.
Unfortunately after Updating, The Machine No Longer Homes and Gives an Error. Any Idea why that Might be? It worked on 3.2.2 Just had Combined Movement Issues.

can you please specify the error

The Panel Due Says
Error: G0/G1: insufficent axes homed
When Using the Home All Command G28

@Toastinator Probably best to follow DC42's request and create a new thread for your problem.
-
@dc42 does this beta also resolve the issue with updating the sammy21 firmware 2.2 on the toolboard? There was an issue of it not completing, and I believe you mentioned something with memory space.
-
The new versions come fast and are typically not backward compatible which makes it a moving target.
Does Duet3d support also older versions? Any thoughts on declaring certain stable version and LTS?
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Long-term_support
My personal interest is a LTS firmware version for the Duet2 Wifi such that if I will have a support issue I will not be asked to upgrade to latest version.
-
We don't have the resources to do an LTS version, however we do patch releases to older firmware versions sometimes, for example 2.05.1 and 3.2.2.
-
This release has made sammyc21s not communicate with the main board. I couldn't find a sammy specific firmware file in the releases. I was previously running the 3.3 beta you shared on dropbox which had sammy specific files. Should I update them to a specific version other than where they are now?
Thanks,
T -
Users normally build the SAMMYC21 firmware themselves so they can modify it, however there is a prebuilt one for 3.3beta1 at https://www.dropbox.com/sh/mab3zs4h6bnwq3r/AABYyJanpjalGm2JA9WWUR3aa?dl=0.

@dc42 Thanks again,
I am just using the SAMMYC21 for servo control, working now. -
@dc42 For the toolboard v1.0, does the sam21 file need to be upgraded to 2.2? I haven't had luck with being able to update from 2.1 to 2.2

If you mean the bootloader, it doesn't need to be updated.

Has this been packaged for SBC builds? I am getting 3.2.2 still from the unstable feed.

No, because currently it it intended to be used with DWC and DSF 3.2.2. That will change when we release a beta that needs a new DSF.

@dc42 On my 6HC with a PI 4, did a update/upgrade and 3.3beta1 didn't install.

@Stephen6309 see just the two posts above yours. This is by design, you need to upgrade to 3.3b1 manually.

@dc42 during the update of the toolboard, the toolboard did not recover until I power cycled the printer. After that the tool temperature was reported to be at about 90C which seems to indicate the heater got fully powered either while the Duet3 board was already on 3.3b1 and the toolboard still on 3.2.2, or after getting the update before being power cycled ...
-
@oliof, this (output 0 turns on while up-loading firmware) is a known issue with the first production batch of tool boards using the original bootloader. It can be fixed by installing an updated bootloader. However, I have a report (yet to be investigated) that uploading the bootloader on a tool board doesn't work when running tool board firmware 3.3beta.
-
I have an early tool board (v0.6), but i did update the bootloader late last year:
M122 B10 Diagnostics for board 10: Duet TOOL1LC firmware version 3.3beta1 (2021-02-14 16:34:04) Bootloader ID: SAMC21 bootloader version 2.1 (2020-11-03b2)

@dc42 is it any different from 3.3beta release available on dropbox? (released 10-15 days ago)
