    • RE: Duet Maestro users: can you share a set of menu files?

I'm a little late to the party but finally sharing a set of menu files for the 12864 type displays.

      https://github.com/tinkerlifeprojects/DUET3D_12864LCD_MenuFiles

They design is loosely based on the "TinkerFirmware" for the ultimaker printers. It has two "Main" pages with shortcuts to common functions and then a set of menus for controlling more aspects of the printer.

Any suggestions or requests are welcome

    • Bed Heater Error

I have a small heated bed on an Ender 2 runnning a Duet Maestro RRF3.01-RC9

Whenever I set the bed to heat up I get the
Error: Heater 0 fault: temperature rising much more slowly than expected 1.5°C/sec

However the bed actually seems to be heating at a fairly normal pace. I've run a PID autotune on the heater (Gets up to 70+ degrees just fine without the safety net of heater fault codes. Temperature validated with IR thermometer) . However as soon as I hit about 30 degrees normally the error shows up.

Previously my heater faults have been caused by a hidden PID tune M307 command later in the config file but that doesn't appear to be the case this time.[0_1587743726845_200424_164332.mp4](Uploading 100%)

    • RE: Heater Faults

@dc42 Interestingly it did however I assumed you suspected that the values were either not applied / were overwritten.

It turns out there was already a line in the config file specifying the parameters that occurred later that where I had included the correct ones. This was overriding the values and seems to have been what was causing the issues.

Needs some testing to be sure but it seems likes its running smoothly again.

    • RE: Heater Faults

@gtj0 I can't remember what version it was before, a few months old, but I've also upgraded to the latest firmware 2.05 to try and fix the issue with no luck.

Both the different heaters that I have tried and the different temperature sensors all had their own unique wiring however they all attached to heater 1. Could it be an issue with the board? Is there a way of remapping to heater 2?

@Phaedrux Yead double checked too. Like I said this has been the same issue with multiple other heater cartridges

@TLAS No cooling fan onto the block itself, and a silicon sock to cover it 😞 . Might not be as good as a ceramic one but shouldn't be an issue.

@denke Unfortunately this is still a standard aluminium block but nice idea. I've tried PID tuning both using the auto PID tune and also manually changing parameters (e.g. boosting P)

    • Heater Faults

Some days it seems fine but some days I cant heat the hotend above about 50 deg-C. Every time I am met by the error:

Heating fault on heater 1, temperature rising much more slowly than the expected 2.1°C/sec

I can clearly see the temperature going up. The temperature plot is smooth with no sudden dips. I have confirmed the temperatures are correct with an independent thermometer.

This is currently on an E3D Hermera, tbhough the issue also occurred on my previous V6. I have tried upgrading to a 40w heater, switching from a PT100 to a Thermister, updating firmware, using the terminal block or connector. All connections appear good. The part cooling fan is not turned on and the hotend has a silicon sock covering it.

I've been troubleshooting this for a while now, If anyone has any insights or suggestions I would love to hear them. Is there a way to relax this 2.1degree/sec limit. The heater seems to be working fine?

    • RE: Duet Maestro users: can you share a set of menu files?

@agniusm very glad you like them. I will continue to try and update them, especially if you find any bugs or have any requests etc. Just let me know.

My method of creating the images was far from streamlined. But because they were small images it didn't matter too much.

I started in paint3D (Any photo editor will do but paint 3D has a pixel brush and lets you zoom in far enough that a 10x10 grid is big enough to see properly.)

Moved to paint to convert to monochrome bitmap

uploaded file to this site to convert to hex

Then manually copied into a Online hex editor and added the width and height at the start. (Just be careful to write the width and height in hex, ie 10 is 0A)

If anyone has a more streamline method though I'd be eager to hear it.
