    • RE: DWC Custom Configuration

@dr_ju_ju Come on mate... beggers can't be choosers.

DWC is a community built UI as is the firmware and out all the different firmwares and UIs for 3D printing, I haven't seen a more active community from the makers themselves. We should be constantly applauding their efforts here, not saying 'it's just crap

I come from a web development background... I know how much is involved in writing an SPA, which has the functionality like DWC and the API endpoints to allow someone to develop a plugin to address UI enhancements.

You can't ask for a way to modify a UI and not write any code... It's like asking to drive a new car out of the lot with no engine.

And from years and years in the development world... a word I've come to hate is it should... Should is an assumption, and assumptions are usually from the naive and cause projects to go over budget and over time.

I appreciate what you're saying here, but there's a far better way to go about it...
One of them is to learn how to do it and help support the community... 🤔

    • RE: Height Map - Substantial z-offset after setting z-offset

@fcwilt Just wanted to post a quick update... I ditched the EZABL and put new BLT's in and haven't had a problem since. Prints are coming out beautiful and I haven't had to adjust the baby steps since the first MBL/ABL.

Thanks again for all the insight and help!

    • RE: DWC Custom Configuration

@dr_ju_ju I've used Octoprint... I've used Repetier server... I have 4 printers and DWC works fine with me.
No one is forcing you to use DWC, attach a SBC and use Octoprint or connect Repetier, but I'm sorry mate, I find your posts unconstructive and more of just winging.

@engikeneer Thanks mate, after a coffee and a clear head, that did link did help me. I feel dumb as I saw that previously, but thought it was only for BLTouch calibratin.

      Thanks mate!

    • RE: Squished Calibration cube

@paulhew thanks, I will check that article out!

As for an update... After updating my z steps to 800, from the original 400 and re-calibrating 0, levelling, and new mesh, I just finished the second calibration cube and it came out muuuuuuch better!
      cube-y.jpg
Still elephant feet and corners to fix, but at least it's printing decent!

@infidelprops Height calibration just finished and I am very pleased to say this is the best height map I've seen since I started this journey... thanks @fcwilt

    • RE: Every time I print, I need to increase baby steps

@fcwilt very clean setup mate, very clean.

Thank you, I'm going to digest and reverse engineer some of this and do some level testing on my printer...

And with that, I've done two test already using the file @Phaedrux mentioned and both times I still had to adjust the baby steps... First print was set to -0.25, second print was -0.38. I decided to re-run the manual bed levelling and mesh, at which point I think I will re-do my probe z-offset calibration and then the MBL and ABL again.

    • RE: Every time I print, I need to increase baby steps

So... I've ran multiple layer test over the last few hours and I haven't had to adjust the babysteps at all and all layers are sticking well... Not sure what changed as I've done so much.

I also just kicked off a new print for a prototype and it was LH 0.28, and here as well I did not need to change the babystep, first layer went down beautiful. 🤷

I'm going to keep an eye on it, but I'm bookmarking this thread as a lot of good troubleshooting steps in here for later.

@fcwilt & @Phaedrux - thank you both for all the help! If I can buy you a coffee/beer, just let me know where to donate to.
@jens55 & @zapta - also thank you for your input, very useful as well.

    • RE: DWC and Paneldue connection conflict

@jay_s_uk Sorry about the delay mate...

I've got a ASUS RT-AX86U, so not vendor supplied... I did open a private window and DWC worked and I was able to upload a gcode file once, and then on the second attempt it fails on files larger than 2MBs. (first attempt was 75MBs)

I cleared all my cache and restarted my computer and DWC works better, but I still can't upload large files to this specific boad, but my other printer/board work without issue.

Going to keep looking at the router as I'm starting to think the problem is there.

No, and would love to watch it!

You will notice that when making this conversion I decided to also try using belts instead of lead screws for the Z axis.

I like it so much any future printers are going to use belts.

      Here is the video:

Wow... your bed tilts on 3 axis?? That's mad and awesome at the same time

    • RE: Height Map - Substantial z-offset after setting z-offset

@fcwilt so I did a G32 and had to adjust the knobs again, and then ran a G29 with one probe and F100... it took a while, but mesh looks much better. We'll see how it looks tomorrow after a 20hr print.

    • RE: Help me identify what would be the cause of these artefacts

Thanks everyone for the suggestions! I've done some tweaking on the pressure advance, flow, steps etc. and it does look a lot better. I still get some bulging on these bottom edges, but on other test prints I get near perfect prints.

For the slicer question, I use PrusaSlicer and it seems to do pretty well.

    • RE: Could this height map offset be causing first layer issues?

Looks like my assumption was right, I just did the change and it probed all my points and gave me a good mesh.
So happy to finally have my height map back where it belongs.

Going to add some comments and notes to mesh to automated the calculations in the future.

      Thanks @Norder for the help!
