I have had intermittent wifi issues since install. It would constantly disconnect. After reading a seggestion in forums I realized I had created a "faraday cage" between my duet board and modem. A cheap wall plug wifi booster, closer and without metal obstructions between modem and booster, fixed the problem.

RE: Are there genuine Duet2 wifi's in stock anywhere?
@phaedrux I ended up ordering a duet3 mainboard. The only issue I foresee is I need one extra low power stepper driver. Is there not a way to connect my old duex5?

RE: G307 parameter Error
@phaedrux question 1: during inital paneldue startup. Bed works fine but I get the error message.
2: Firmware 3.0. I am trying to learn one version before upgrading. I am finding it too confusing for my 64 year old brain
3: I believe so. I am unsure because literally I forget what I have done after walking out the shop door. Refer to answer to question 2.
4: I will post my config .g and the results of sending M122 and M98 P"config.g" shortly.
Here they are:

RE: config.g disappears
@droftarts I had my config file disappear this morning after an edit. Thankfully I was able to copy and paste from the configbak file. First time on my 3HC although it happened frequently on my diet 2 wifi. RRF 3.4 is running now.

RE: skip a layer or two intentionally while printing?
@T3P3Tony Thanks Tony. I think after it lays down the perimeter of the second bottom layer I will just pull the filament. After it's done the remainder of the 2nd layer without filament I'll start with filament again for the 3rd. That at the very least will save me about a 1/2 kg of filament.

skip a layer or two intentionally while printing?
Is it possible to skip a layer or two intentionally while printing? I am printing a large object (700x800x900mm) and I intended to leave the bottom open but I sliced it with 2 bottom layers. I would like to keep the z axis and layer height the same but edit the gcode, while the print is paused, to skip printing the bottom.

RE: 24 volt 40w hotend wiring?
@rushmere3d Thank you gentleman. I did just try a sock and that does help. I also built a styrofoam aluminum foil enclosure. That along with a 240 volt 2160 watt bed heater gives me a pretty stable print environment. I will upgrade the hotend when this one gives up the ghost.

RE: 24 volt 40w hotend wiring?
@rushmere3d duet 3 mainboard, with Prusa hot end but I may upgrade. I am hoping to have a print temp range up to 300-350. Mostly just in case.

RE: 24 volt 40w hotend wiring?
@rushmere3d That is correct and my heater seemed to be struggling at higher temperatures. Are out1-3 12 volt or 24? VIN is voltage in from the power supply correct? Sorry for my ignorance, I didn't want to damage the board.

RE: 24 volt 40w hotend wiring?
@deckingman Thank you sir. I read all those documents but it was often all Greek to me. My aged brain has limited comprehension for new information these days.
My understanding is that a rated 24/40 heater cartridge will not work optimally on the 12 volt outputs 1-3. Is there a 24 volt output I can use or am I wrong?
I'm just trying to not burn the house down some days
Thanks again,
Dave
