    Yay! My print turned out pretty good. Still some fine tuning to do but I had excellent bed adhesion.

    I bought my Tronxy X5SA-Pro 500 and it has the same ribbon cable from the back to the front. I'm putting a Duet 3 on it, so i'll be stripping wires and re-crimping a lot. I don't think i'll use the ribbon cable. What did you end up doing?

    @phaedrux

    Sweet. I'll make those changes.

    I'm on my second print now.

    My first print using PLA was successful but very stringy.

    I was printing with the bed at 60c and the nozzle at 190c. Typical cooling fan settings, retraction distance of 1mm.

    My printer has a bowden style extruder so on the second print I've set retraction to 2mm to see if that helps, and raised the nozzle temperature to 200c.

    I need to tune up my nozzle heating, it's slower than the software likes and often errors out due to taking too long to reach set temperature. I'll do that after the current print, likely not until tomorrow though since I've been working on this with only a few breaks for over ten hours today.

    @phaedrux
    I hadn't. I'll read through it in a bit.

    I used the Reprap firmware configurator to do most of the heavy lifting. Now I'm just tweaking settings.

    I'm calibrating the heat bed at the moment, I just finished calibrating the hot end.

    @pr0xyfl00d3r

    Hi,

    I'm in the process of just starting with a Duet 3 6HC and modifying my Tronxy X5SAPro 330 x 330.

    Can I ask which sensor your using for the z probe?

    I have both the XY-08N and the TR glass (currently using the TR on the Tron, but plan on using the XY-08N for rig testing).

    I've read a few posts (mostly your own). I see you have the following in your config;

    @pr0xyfl00d3r said in Duet 2 Wifi Tronxy X5SA Z probe setup:

    M558 P5 I1 H5 F120 T6000 A10 R0.5 S0.005 B0 ; Set Z probe type to modulated and the dive height + speeds

    Are these sensors modulated?

    Also, off subject. With testing on a rig, can I test with one spare stepper motor, switch the unit Off and connect to the next drive for testing, or is this not advised?

    Sorry but a bit green to this.

    Forgot to state I have the Duet 3 6HC running RRF 3.4.2

    Dizzwold.

    Time to sing it:
    "Happy Happy Joy Joy Joy!!!"

    The learning curve is killing me. But some progress made!

    I thought macros were automatically run. Nope. Did some research. Tried:
    P/macros/setnetwork.
    Nope, no go.

    Did even more research
    M98 p/macros/setnetwork

    M587 showed belkin.c6f but no IP address or netmask or anything, all zeros.
    Rebooted, ran M587. Connected with an IP address!!!!

    Thank you all of you who helped me figure this out.
