It seems odd to me that your hotend thermistor has a C value of 0. If this is an E3D thermistor cartridge it should be 7.06e-8

That may explain the inability to adequately melt PLA?

What does your temperature graph look like?

You have a delta printer but you haven't calibrated it. See https://duet3d.dozuki.com/Wiki/Calibrating_a_delta_printer.

      All,

I have been busy trying various thing...one of the problems I found was the heatbreak was not tightened and when hot seemed to unscrew.

I am now going through the config.g and found various issues I have fixed. I did find the attached in the nozzle. A nozzle X no less.

      Solved it 🙂

Pressure advance was set in slicer as well as in the firmware, removed the slic3er entry (it was set to 1) and all is well.

Fantastic, thanks for the reply's and suggestions.

      Have a great evening.

      ;FLAVOR:RepRap ;TIME:393 ;Filament used: 1.12226m ;Layer height: 0.4 ;Generated with Cura_SteamEngine 3.6.0 T0 M190 S72 M104 S198 M109 S198 M83 G28 G21 ;G32 G29 S1 G1 Z50 F1500 G92 E0 G91 E8

It would appear you have a G1 Z50 move in your startup gcode in Cura. That would explain why it's printing in the air.

      G91 E8 isn't a valid command either.

I'm not really sure how Slic3r 1.2.9 is implementing the pressure advance algorithm. It looks like it's making it's own extruder moves. Personally I would try both the slicer implementation and the Duet implementation and use which ever looked the best.

From your gcode it looks like you are using slicer 1.2.9. Consider upgrading to the more recent 1.3.1 release. There have been some significant improvements compared to the ancient 1.2.9 release. https://slic3r.org/download/

Also consider trying the Prusa Edition of Slic3r which has many improvements of it's own. https://github.com/prusa3d/slic3r/releases

A volcano with a bowden setup will be even more prone to ooze than a traditional hotend, so I think your results from test3 are quite good.

      Wow!

Such a simple change. This seems to have cured the issues, there were other problems as I also found that my slicer gcode was affecting the Z height.

I am now printing 🙂 Lets see what happens I have a test cube running but will take a little time as its 100mm x 100mm x 21mm

      Thank you,

      Andy

      Hi There,

Thank you for the reply. Although the speed was set high this was not the issue. The issue lay in the homedelta.g file, I set each axis to 505 instead of 520. All working fine, I have another question, but will post separately. 🙂

      Best.
