@dmandn said in Which wires to toolhead can be joined?:

I believe the +3.3v and gnd pins for the x endstop and filament sensor can be grouped together? (laser sensor) (ie gnd + gnd, v_in and v_in).

      Yes.

I believe instead of a GND, the +v_in for the fans can be grouped and the fanx_- is the control pin for the PWM fans? So that implies I should be able to group the V_fan connectors to one 24v source?

      Yes.

BLtouch requires 5v for servo and 3.3v for probe in pin? possibly can share gnd with endstops for probe in?

BLTouch does not need 3.3V. It can share ground with the endstops.

Also, is the heater controlled on the + or -? Seems like they are also controlling the - side?

Yes. You can common fan V+ and heater V+ if you take it from the heater connector, although you will lose the benefit of the lower rated fuse in the fan V+ supply.

The thermistor wires cannot be commoned with other wires, except that 2 or more thermistors can share the VSSA wire.

@gallaghersart @jay_s_uk is correct too much had changed (e.g many of the capacitors, diodes, the hole internal power supply circuitry etc) to make it make sense to convert.

@jay_s_uk You are totally right, I was questioning my sanity but I tried the same with a different driver and it worked now. I guess that my driver was broken. There were also some software issues. Thanks everyone for your help!

@Phaedrux I have previously tried all of those options. Dedicated 2.4ghz SSID, and multiple tails / multiple antennas (2-10 dBi) both directly connected or with extensions to locate the antenna in better air. Its not a physical issue.

Its either a bad board or a firmware issue, and the solution to both is to move to wired. I didn't want it to be connected over wifi initially, as I intended to use it in SBC mode, so it wasn't an issue, and I had this wifi version spare. Still, now I intend not to use the SBC so replacing it with a wired version is the logical option.

@dc42 I selected r1. 3 because I may change to the hemera xs knowing the mount spacing is different. I have already added the new mounting holes to my bracket. The grounding through the mounting is also a bonus. I'll have to modify the wiring connections either way.

@Sardi ok so you can hook that strip directly to the power supply if you want the LEDs on when ever the printer is on (simplest), assuming the power supply has the spare current to run the strip as well as the printer.

@rister502dad Fan 0 on out8 is set as a thermostatic fan so it will only turn on when the hotend is above 45C, however you have an S0 in there which is either invalid or will prevent it turning on at all.

      ; Fans M950 F0 C"out8" Q500 ; create fan 0 on out7 and set its frequency M106 P0 S0 H1 T45 ; set fan 0 value. Thermostatic control is turned on
