I got 450x480 8mm here, https://www.clickmetal.co.uk/click-by-category/plate/aluminium-tooling-plate , I must say it was impressively flat, but I haven't had a chance to cut it to final dimensions and use it in anger yet as I'm still mulling over design details.

Stall detection technology during printing is implemented already in firmware 1.20beta11, see https://duet3d.com/wiki/Stall_detection_and_sensorless_homing. However, it doesn't operate before you start printing from SD card. You could put the homing and calibration command in your slicer start script.

I've not been successful yet in using stall detection to sense deliberate motor movements caused by knocking the carriage on my delta. Part of the problem is that the carriages on a delta often move slowly, and stall detection doesn't work at low speeds.

That's a shame it would have been a nice to have feature,

That's not bad, but not quite as good as I and many other uses achieve on a 300mm print area. What is the bed made of? Are the points with the highest deviation at the edge of the print area, or not?

Its 8mm aluminum plate with glass on top. The aluminum plate appears to be cupped so its lower in the middle.

DADIY, you can click on Heaters, which hides some infos, and the temps dropboxes will be larger.

True, but I was reporting it so that we could just get in on the wish list to be fixed in the future.

Just published a modified duct on thingiverse (2584364), which includes a photo. I have a couple of mm of nozzle below the bottom of the duct, which runs parallel to the print bed. I just shortened the side arms of the duct a bit, to keep them away from the heater element. I have printed in PETG so far - would probable be better in ABS, but not set up to do that yet.

yes we caught up on shipping today!

see my follow up, at the end of the firmware update the hot end comes on and everything over heats, just re upgraded to 1.19 and it did the same again but flicking the power switch and all is well again.

Can this also be added when the print is cancelled? it would really be amazing during calibration tests.
