@nikker said in Z Probe Already Triggered only when using G32:

but something happens on the first G30 command to probe the front left of the bed.

What exactly happens? Do you mean the probe reading goes to 1000 before the sensor is close to the bed?

@nikker said in Z Probe Already Triggered only when using G32:

I also noticed that along the Y axis once I get close the the limits of travel, with 0,0 being bed center the Z probe trigger value hits 1000. I think this is where the Z probe already triggered is coming from but why? I checked all the wiring and all is good.

If the sensor has an LED to indicate that ti is triggered, does the LED turn on at the same time the reading hits 1000? Are there any pieces of ferrous metal (e.g. linear rails, leadscrews) at either end of the Y axis that could be triggering the sensor?

My guess is that the repeated and frequent"Attempting to extrude with no tool selected" messages are causing the firmware to run out of output buffers. Try selecting a tool and enabling cold extrusion.

So i think it had something to do with how I was testing the printer. I created a macro that was a snippet of a full gcode file. I have been messing with it for the last hour and as soon as I let it run the macro is when I get disconnected.

@dc42 could there be a checked implemented for this?

Yes, I'll add a check. Unfortunately, error messages generated when config.g is run are often not seen by the user.

If you want to use both BLTouch and FSR Z probe, you will need to connect the BLTouch to the Z probe connector and a spare heater channel, and the FSR board to a spare endstop connector. Use the M558 command to switch between them.

Is there a reason why you don't just use the BLTouch?

@nikker said in Testing Duex5... cant get fans to work:

Think I have i may have it figured out but cant test it as I dont have a jumper... but it looks like I have to set the fan voltage jumper to 12 volts as well as the 12v EN jumper. Can anyone confirm this? Thanks.

If your VIN is 24V, that is correct. If VIN is 12V, set the fan voltage selector jumper to VIN instead of to 12V.

RRF does not support temperature or humidity sensors connected via I2C, so you would need to make firmware changes to use it. It does support M260 and M261 commands to send/receive raw data over I2C.

Here's another possible and much easier solution... use "socat" to bridge the ports...

Give the duet and the pi ethernet port static addresses say 10.0.0.2/24 and 10.0.0.1/24 respectively then run socat as follows...

      socat \ TCP4-LISTEN:80,bind=<pi_wifi_addr>,reuseaddr,fork \ TCP4:10.0.0.2:80,bind=10.0.0.1

Now any connection that comes in over wifi to port 80 will get forwarded to the duet's port 80.

Just to follow up, i did get my slic3r dialed in using a volumetric max speed of 8 mm^3/s and 60mm/s max auto speed. I tried letting slic3r do all speeds automatically except the first layer and small perimeters. Print speed wasnt too bad, every now and then a single layer would print very slow while the rest appeared to be closer to the max of 60mm/s. I was not trying to really print faster, just make sure that the filament flow was consistent. I ended up going back to Simplify3D. While i wish they did more updates and had some newer features like setting up more speeds for different features and native firmware features, the prints came out better even with similar settings. I also ran out of PETG and picked up another roll. I was using eSUN white but the local fry's electronics store didnt have anymore so i got some MG chemicals PETG natural… they have a pretty poor filament selection. The MG chemicals PETG prints much different than the eSUN and actually is drastically better in terms of quality and strength. FYI for those interested.

Im printing with Taulman Alloy 910 quite a lot. Im using 6 to 7mm retraction on about 550mm bowden length without pressure advance.
For me pressure advance causes over extrusion as described in another topic, so you may want to disable it just to eliminate this possibility.

Another problem i encountered is that there are bubbles forming where water in the filament is boiling. This is most pronounced on retractions and while bridging, so where the material can more easily expand, this can cause blobs.
You could try to put you filament in an oven at 80-90 degrees celsius for 4 hours, however it will reabsorb most of the water within 24 hours from air humidity. Im doing this before printing very dimensional critical parts.

My delta also has a 600mm Bowden tube and I need 6mm retraction. I hope the retraction needed may be a little less when I replace the tubing with Capricorn tubing.

The mounting holes on the Duet are not connected to anything, so that won't introduce a ground loop.

It does sound that the processor has developed a fault. Forum user W3DRK, who is based in the US, may be able to replace it for you.

      @nikker:

So guess i just wasnt too sure on the wiring, I had all 3 wires hooked up. Just have the 2, ground and stop with the switch being normally closed and seems to work now.

Edit: I did not see your reply. Just to clarify, I have the ground connected to the switches common and the pin labeled stop connected to switch's normally closed pin. The switch has 3 connectors but I am only using 2

That's the normal way to connect standard microswitches. See https://duet3d.com/wiki/Connecting_endstop_switches#Microswitch.
