    • RE: FW 3.5.2 Web Control unusable when password and telnet used

      @chrishamm Thanks for the input.

If you get CSS errors even after force-reloading the page via Ctrl+Shift+R, maybe something went wrong while you uploaded DWC 3.5.2...

I did try force-reloading, clearing cache, and cookies. Also tried manually copying files to SD. I don't think the files are corrupted because the problem is repeatable just by turning password and telnet on and power cycling the board. When Password or Telnet is disabled everything works so the files must be good.

NS_ERROR_UNKOWN_HOST means that your browser could not resolve the hostname of your printer while trying to request something, so better try to connect via the IP address...

I tried using IP address and the error changed to NS_ERROR_CONNECTION_REFUSED. The CSS was still not loaded and the end result was the same.

If you enable Telnet, you have fewer sockets available on the Duet Maestro which can cause problems

      I tested:

      • Password off, FTP on, Telnet on - everything works
      • Password on, FTP on, Telnet on - CSS not loaded
      • Password on, FTP off, Telnet on - CSS not loaded
      • Password on, FTP off, Telnet off - everything works
      • Password on, FTP on, Telnet off - everything works

I doubt setting a password has a big effect on the web interface. Enabling (or disabling) FTP and/or Telnet certainly has an effect, though.

I think it has something to do with the order files are loaded by the browser. The CSS is loaded before the password is requested and I think that is stopping it from loading. Once the password is entered the CSS is not reloaded, as it was assumed to be loaded already, so the interface does not work. When I occasionally got Web Control to work, by using emergency stop, it was reloading the page with the password transferred in request so the CSS loaded successfully.

    • FW 3.5.2 Web Control unusable when password and telnet used

Upgraded from 3.4.6 to 3.5.2 using Duet2and3Firmware-3.5.2.zip and Web Control lost CSS formatting leaving most of the interface unusable. Reverting back to 3.4.6 fixed the issue.

I tested multiple times redoing firmware upgrade, redownloading files, manually recreating www directory on SD card, using a new SD card, but the error persisted. Reverting back to 3.4.6 always fixed the issue.

Finally figured out that the GET request for app.ef12892b.css was being refused with error NS_ERROR_UNKNOWN_HOST.

This only caused a problem when I was using a Password (M551 P"password") and had Telnet also enabled (M586 P2 S1). Web Control randomly worked if I restarted the machine using emergency stop but then the gcode editor did not work. if I power cycled the machine then Web Control would always load incorrectly.

I finally just disabled telnet, by commenting out M586 P2 S1, and everything works as expected.

      Is this a bug?

Below is my config and result of M122 command. Let me know if you need any more info.

Thank you all for the help and sorry for late reply. Ended up getting replacement boards (main and expansion) at a very good price and thankfully nothing blew up when I reconnected. I had all connections labeled with orientation, and double checked, but was still weary when flicking the power switch on!

Really kicking myself for working on it late at night, in low light levels, leading to the 1 pin misalignment mishap. Constantly live and learn!

@dc42 Yes main processor is uncomfortable hot to the touch. I'm guessing that's bad. U10 is cool.

      @polygon

See guide for the Duet 3 Mini 5+

Look at the Duet GCode dictionary for reference to commands.

      • G29 does mesh bed probe which requires M557 to define the grid area and spacing between points.

      • G30 does a single Z probe at current location to set Z point.

Need lots more info from you to provide additional help:

      • What config files are you using? Link to files? Or post your config files here using </> code button in editor.
      • What z probe do you have?

    • RE: Paneldue v3 7 inch no touch.

@zbeeble You may have flashed the wrong firmware onto the panel. Do you have a genuine Panel Due or a clone? I have a clone which has v2 (or v3 , I can't remember) printed on the board but is actually a 7i and so uses firmware file ending in *-7.0i.bin.

Again from memory, a couple of years ago, I remember that I tried a few firmware files and was always able to recover using the BOSSA programmer, so no harm done flashing the wrong file. I know one displayed correctly but touch did not work. Another displayed colors wrong and was upside down (and could not be flipped in settings).

Try to figure out if you have a clone? If you can't then post pics of front and back of board and I'm sure someone here can help.

    • RE: Killed my Duet 2 Maestro? Snap/pop & magic pixie dust smell.

@phaedrux Disconnected everything except USB and got:

      USB LED always on
      5v LED always on
      3.3v LED always off
Diag LED: With USB disconnected for > 30 sec then connected it stays on. If USB removed for 5 sec and then connected the LED never comes on.

U2 very hot. (regulator?) 5v in, 0.35v out. Guessing this is part of the problem.

Did not run any more tests since U2 was very hot after 10 seconds.

Any indications its possible or not to save?

Here's a pic of the board. Forum would not let me post a bigger one. Let me know if you want more zoomed in pics.

    • RE: Duet 2 Maesto Stepper Driver Expansion 3D model or PCB files?

@dc42 I don't have Altium but I guess I could try working with the files. In the end I just want 300dpi raster or SVG files so I can create a decal graphic for a model. Sadly I think I may have fried my board so this may be a moot point. Will see if I can fix it first.

    • Killed my Duet 2 Maestro? Snap/pop & magic pixie dust smell.

I have the Duet 2 Maestro with the 2 driver expansion board. I took the expansion board off to measure it and when I put it back I may have misaligned by one pin. The motor connectors were definitely correct as I labeled them. Turn on the printer and immediately heard a snap/pop and smelt the magic pixie dust. Turned it off within a second and pulled the expansion board off which was already hot by X1 driver chip.

The main board no longer boots with the expansion board removed.

      • Can't see any visible damage to components under a magnifier.
      • I smell burnt electronics by the microSD card slot.
      • Only the Vin LED Blue and V5 LED Red are lit. Ethernet LEDs do not light.
      • Cannot access web control.
      • PanelDue screen shows basic icons but no info and nothing works.
      • BLtouch probe does cycle.

Can anyone suggest where I should start trying to fix the board. Any fuses?
Have multimeter and basic pocket oscilloscope.

      Thanks for any help.

    • Duet 2 Maesto Stepper Driver Expansion 3D model or PCB files?

I recently built a 3D model of the Duet 2 Maestro and now want to do the same for the Maestro Stepper Driver Expansion board. Sadly I did not find KiCAD project files for the expansion board in the Duet 2 Hardware GitHub.

After searching the forum I see it was designed by M3D specifically for their QuadFusion print head which I have. M3D have been defunct for a while now so no chance of getting it from them. I tried contacting them many times over the last year and got no response.

@dc42 mentioned Gerber files in a post from 2020. Can anyone provide a download link to these or any other resource that shows the copper traces and silkscreen for the PCB?

I know this stuff is out of production for over 2 years but I really want to complete my CoreXY build with a nice case for the Maestro that provides good cooling.

      Any help is greatly appreciated.

    • RE: Tips to prevent filament hang-ups when feeding in new filament

@jens55 At some point I acquired a bowden tube cutter and found that it makes very sharp cuts on filament with minimal distortion. I can't feel any lip on the cut end. The lip caused by cutting is what often makes the filament catch. Picture is 1.75mm filament resting on paper.

Built a model tonight and it went a lot faster than expected. Thanks @droftarts for the KiCad info. PCB export helped greatly for major component placement. The SVG export was used to generate decals that show the copper traces and silkscreen. Thanks @DIY-O-Sphere for the model. Was not able to download it but found others I could pull components from.

Had to build a bunch of components that I could not find but it did not take too long. Here is the work in progressl. Yet to do the bottom decal and the External Driver Expansion board. Then will finally be able to build a case for it to get my printer completed.

@droftarts Thank you very much; the kiCad files are exactly what I was looking for. Never used this program before but was quickly able to export the PCB as STEP and other layers as SVG which will be an excellent starting point for a 3D model. You have saved me at least a days worth of work!

    • 3D models of Duet Maestro or dimensionally correct 2D files?

If anyone has a 3D model of the Duet Maestro board in any 3D file format that would be great.

Otherwise don't want to reinvent the wheel so looking for correctly dimensional 2D files, that I can use to build a 3D model of the Duet 2 Maestro board, without measuring everything.

The support page says "A 3d model of the Duet 2 Maestro has not yet been produced."
      https://docs.duet3d.com/Duet3D_hardware/Duet_2_family/Duet_2_Maestro

I found the SVG connection diagrams:

      • https://raw.githubusercontent.com/Duet3D/Duet-2-Hardware/master/Duet2/Duet2Maestro_v1.0/Duet2Maestro_Wiring_V1.0_drawing_v1.2.svg
      • https://raw.githubusercontent.com/Duet3D/Duet-2-Hardware/master/Duet2/Duet2Maestro_v1.0/Duet2Maestro_Wiring_V1.0_drawing_v1.3.svg

      Are these dimensionallly accurate?

I see the dimensions diagram and can't see to scale the SVG to match up:
      https://docs.duet3d.com/duet_boards/duet_2_wifi_ethernet_maestro/duet_2_maestro_dimensions.jpg

If not accurate; is there another better resource/file that has precise locations of chips and connectors?

Also don't know which version, v1.1 to v1.3, I have as don't see any version numbers on my board. Is there a way to find this out?

      Thanks for any help.

During forum sign up / new account creation the Terms of Use (TOU) text shows HTML code for Unordered list (UL) and line items (LI) rather then rendering them.

After signup is complete and I was directed to profile page I see a modal in bottom right that displays what looks to be placeholder code rather than actual Title and Message text.
