I know it's not a Meanwell PSU so I won't expect the same performance.
Tested it under motor load and the oscilation is practically none. Yes…. with this cheap multimeter. It's not the best way but I can't afford an oscilloscope or a more professional calibrated multimeter.

My concern was if I had to ask for a refund/return or to confirm the transaction.

Hi im thinking to build a CNC CO2 laser, and because i already have a duet it would be nice if i can use a duet for this machine to.

Laser cutting should not be a problem, but how to engraving in raster mode with the duet.

merlin uses G7 to execute a raster line ( base64 encoded line ) and i think there is a inkscape plugin to generate the g-code for merlin.

Issue is resolved, was something strange going on in my slicer(s) with sphere prints. Not sure what all contributes, but it was having 4 perimeters + 4 bottom layers. I lowered that to 3 perimeter, 2 bottom layers, and they print beautifully. Worked to resolve it in both s3d & slic3r.

As for the steppers, I did lower the currents a tad from where they were. Didn't have to be 50%, but did have to go down some.

Ah I see, I didn't think of the fact that your unit is for controlling a setup where the bed and the rest are powered from one PSU.

In my case my bed is powered from mains, so my safety processor would need to sit before the bed and the printer plug.

Just a tangent from this, my chamber heater reported a fault as it wasn't heating as fast as expected, this killed the print, when perhaps for an accessory heater like this, an arguably better behaviour would be to shut down that heater and continue printing as there is still a possibility of a successful print, or indeed pause.

Also are there any plans to have a system where faults could be notified to the user by email?

The changes in 3. sound great, I the meantime I'm going to go scavenging for large capacitors.

If the Tx and Rx lines are reversed, I would not expect to get backlight only - I would expect to get a normal screen but no status to be received. I am surprised if you saw something different.

I'm still working on my http2usb proxy to get rid of the WIFI/webserver stack, is it possible to configure the USB port so that it acts as the paneldue serial port ? I'd rather use the usb port as I think I can use higher speed rate.

That's the exact formula from the linked wiki page: revs_per_second = (2 * supply_voltage)/(steps_per_rev * pi * inductance * current). It's the max revolutions per second of the motor itself, why would a target belt speed be in there?
