I think It would be a good idea if a Duet3 CNC oriented board came out. RRF is great, and very easy to use, but as mentioned before all the boards are very 3D printer oriented.
I would like to have a Duet3 without drivers, thermistor inputs and heater outputs and instead have dir/step outputs and ethercat for the use of industrial servos. Another missing feature is an encoder input for a spindle, needed to do hard threading, and an addon board with isolated inputs and outputs needed for a CNC. Also an MPG input.
Software side, there are no fixed cycles (for now at least), which is not very necessary for a mill (or a router), except for drilling cycles, but it is really used on lathes, also tool radius compensation is needed for a lathe. Otherwise, everything needs to be done on CAM.

@Danal No theres no G2/G3 arc moves. Ive been running fake cuts this morning and it seems to be reacting perfectly. Thank you for your help and patients. Cant wait to make this thing work.

@jens55 just looking at the manual for the VFD and yes the SPH, SPM and SPL are high medium and low speeds

It is possible to tell RRF a transformation matrix (M669), so transforming the machine coordinate system to match the workpiece could be done with some conditional G code. I think you would need variables though, and those are not supported yet.

I was gone for a while on that proyect but i´m back again.
Has anyone tried to make this setup work so far?
I would love some help in therms of what kind of program could i use to decide where to engrave and where not, and if duet wifi can be used for that purpouse for sure. Also, i would love to know if i´ll have some help from the developers if any modification on the firmware would be needed,.
I was also thinking on using that sistem on a 5 axis cnc milling machine.
The 0 of both machines the need to be preconfigured so we can mill and then engrave in one go without loosing any reference.

well, on a cnc mode I don't need to monitor temperatures, for example. So this little screen space could be saved. I would like to see a nice jogging interface to move the tool (something similar to that on pronterface), build-in macros to change WCS... it is not much but it would be a world of a difference. Now, everytime I have to jog the tool I have to go to a sub-menu and the buttons are not very intuitive. I have to think about it a little bit more, because I haven't used the CNC for a couple of weeks now and it is not on the top of my stack...

Your clipboard can copy and paste french just fine. Open your ooznest post, find onClose and insert the two lines I posted. That would most likely as the stop code you're missing.

I suggest you use RRF3 and either M409 or the equivalent HTTP call which is rr_model. The WCS and spindle info are not yet available in the object model, but I will add them.

I presume you mean RRF3 on Duet 3 with attached RPi? It should be working in standalone mode and on Duet 2.

Good clarification. Yes, RRF3 on D3+Pi was the test environment where it puts in a comment but no actual G commands. I'm presuming from the comment that the rest of the code will come to that environment soon.
