      Hi there!!
I was gone for a while on that proyect but i´m back again.
Has anyone tried to make this setup work so far?
I would love some help in therms of what kind of program could i use to decide where to engrave and where not, and if duet wifi can be used for that purpouse for sure. Also, i would love to know if i´ll have some help from the developers if any modification on the firmware would be needed,.
I was also thinking on using that sistem on a 5 axis cnc milling machine.
The 0 of both machines the need to be preconfigured so we can mill and then engrave in one go without loosing any reference.
      Thanks

@FelixH said in PanelDue and WorkBee Controler:

I do have a Workbee with a PanelDue attached to it. You don't have to do anything special about it. However I wish the PanelDue would have a CNC mode, since all the environment is 3D Printer oriented.

What would be the differences in CNC mode? Obviously you wouldn't need the extrusion facility or the temperatures; but what would you want in their place?

well, on a cnc mode I don't need to monitor temperatures, for example. So this little screen space could be saved. I would like to see a nice jogging interface to move the tool (something similar to that on pronterface), build-in macros to change WCS... it is not much but it would be a world of a difference. Now, everytime I have to jog the tool I have to go to a sub-menu and the buttons are not very intuitive. I have to think about it a little bit more, because I haven't used the CNC for a couple of weeks now and it is not on the top of my stack...

@bearer im a mechanical engineer.... not a software engineer ..... looks like french....

Your clipboard can copy and paste french just fine. Open your ooznest post, find onClose and insert the two lines I posted. That would most likely as the stop code you're missing.

I suggest you use RRF3 and either M409 or the equivalent HTTP call which is rr_model. The WCS and spindle info are not yet available in the object model, but I will add them.

Note: This does not appear to be working (yet) in RRF3.

I presume you mean RRF3 on Duet 3 with attached RPi? It should be working in standalone mode and on Duet 2.

Good clarification. Yes, RRF3 on D3+Pi was the test environment where it puts in a comment but no actual G commands. I'm presuming from the comment that the rest of the code will come to that environment soon.

For tax purposes before midnight I went ahead and ordered another Duet 2. If CNC mode and polar kinematics don't play well together at least I've got another board for a printer.

Perfect! That was the keyword I am looking for. Steps/mm? I looked in the config and didn't recognized the setting. After you named it I saw it immediately.
Now the travel distance is perfect!

Thank you so much for the speed help!
      Best regards,

@dc42 On further investigation I have discovered the (syntax) error. Sorry, my bad. I overlooked the "S" before the RMP. I have tested and M3 S20000 or M3 S10000, etc work fine. So all good now. Thanks again for your help. Cheers,

Check your clearance height etc. Not sure about aspire, but F360 wants to lift the spindle 10mm by default.

As Ooznest had video and guide only for CNC xPro (apparently that changed recently) I haven’t looked into Ooznest macros to be honest.

As you pointed to M585 command I have tried that now with successful stop at the plate, exactly what I need! I will have a look at that macro to learn how they deal with tool offset vs. wcs offset.

Thank you for showing me the way @jannau and @danal !
