@techworld First of all, it's bad practice to use different firmware and DSF/DWC versions. Do not install firmware updates directly over the web interface in SBC mode, do it via apt update/upgrade instead.

Once connected over SSH/Linux terminal, check if apt update succeeds. Perhaps your machine doesn't have internet access but requires it to download the libgnutls30 package.

@ptegler DOOOHL! (brain fart ol' age) forgot stupid 6 pin stepper motor connectors (uses 4 of 6 pins) or NOT straight across coil to coil.
1-4 is one coil and 3-6 is the other coil (2 and 5 are not used) So the little adapter I made to go from the original Duet3d cable to the Ethernet2 board, I connected wrong. Swapped the two center pins of the mating 6 pin adapter connector (3 &4) and viola'.
      all is well.
      ....head back under my rock
oh...P.S. love the idea of mounting the Orbiter directly on the Smart Effector, even printed up and had it mounted. But I've found higher speeds with less vibration artifacts leaving the extruder 'flying' as designed by the TEVO team (with my own adaptation to the flying bridge of course) works much better with lass mass to sling around IMG_1024[1].JPG

@Phaedrux Ok, I have a new SD card with v3.4.4 on it and the printer is back running so I can now get back to my original problem. I will be running some test prints today to see if I have a bad thermistor or bad wire crimps or worn cables. Thanks

If you're still stuck share your configuration files so we can see your commands. Also share exactly how it's wired up.

I think I solved the problem:

it wasn't the SD-card- but as I changed the cable and re-crimped an USB-3-cable everything now seems to work! 🙂

@Drakat it's fins to use a common +VIN wire for the fans and hot end heaters, and also the Z probe if it is an inductive sensor that needs a VIN feed.

A common ground for the Z probe and the Z endstop is also OK.

A problem arises if the tool head board assumes that the thermistor also uses the common ground connection. In line with good practice, Duets boards use separate analog and digital grounds in order to get good signal integrity when reading the thermistors. The analog ground is called VSSA. Duets also provide a PTC fuse between VSSA and ground, because shorts between hot end heaters and thermistors are a common occurrence. So if your tool head board assumes a common ground with the thermistor, you have two choices:

Run a separate VSSA wire between the tool head and the Duet; Use the common ground and don't connect to the VSSA pin at the Duet end. You will get less accurate temperature readings and you will lose the protection of the fuse.

@kuhnikuehnast said in Duet 2 Wifi - PT100 Daughter Board and Accelerometer:

Are the pins on "top" of the Daughter Board the same as the pins on the Duet 2 Board?

No, the CS3/CS4 pins on the bottom of the daughter board are routed to the positions above the CS1/CS2 pins. This is what lets you stack two daughter boards. So you can wire the accelerometer as if you were plugging the cable directly into the daughterboard connector on the Duet, but if you are plugging it on top of one daughter board then configure it to use CS3/4 instead of CS1/2.

@superkevdogg driver 3 and 4 Step/Dir signals do not share a common buffer IC but 2 and 3 or 4 and 5 do.

      https://github.com/Duet3D/Duet3-Mainboard-6XD/blob/master/v1.0/Duet3_MB_6XD_Schematic_v1.0.pdf

Those buffers provide some protection but maybe you fed VMOT into them?
