At the faire I would have had it switch to wifi hotspot and at home it would have gone back to connecting to my home wifi, so it was more than on/off (if that's a clue)

I might try upgrading that but it'd be another band-aid. This problem has been popping up for years now and, like with me, the last time "it just went away" and was no longer pursued but it keeps re-occurring. That's the part that makes it frustrating.

I'm only about 90% certain about removing the jumper... the documentation for the relay board is confusing.

That's very true. That damned plastic refuses to behave 😉

But acceleration can keep your average speed high, even in the detailed sections of the prints.

I guess your Smart Effector has developed a fault then, so please ask for it to be replaced under warranty. You might like to check first that all pins of the 8-pin connector are soldered properly (those pins have to be hand-soldered so it's possible that pins get missed), and that component L1 on the underside and close to that connector is present.

Pretty sure I'm not on the beta so I can give that a try when I get the opportunity. thx

@dc42 that's excellent. Where do I look for more info on that? nm, found it M581. That should do the trick for me.
