@pogo1213 Can you post a picture of your setup, ideally with all the boards and the wiring showing? How is the SZP powered?

Checked that everything is updated to 3.5.1

Please update to 3.5.2. Also, to force a firmware update (make sure the SZP firmware binary is in the /firmware folder), power the system up while holding the 'CAN RESET' button down.

That PSU doesn't seem to have a control input, so you'll need to do it just be switching the mains input. So either use a relay or an SSR to switch the mains live going to the main PSU.

If using a bare relay you need one with a 5V coil, and you'll need to put a protection diode across the coil. Alternatively, use a 5V relay module or SSR that says it works with arduino.

Note that most of those relay modules don't comply with standards about isolating the mains voltage from the low voltage parts on the PCB, so the result probably won't meet your local electrical safety laws.

If using an SSR bear in mind that all the SSRs on ebay are fakes that don't get close to their stated rating. Buy your SSR from somewhere reputable, and even doing that use one rated two-to-four times your nominal requirement (the SSR rating is for an ideal resistive load with plenty of heatsinking on the SSR). You want a 'zero crossing' or 'zero switching' SSR.

Yes that should work. Or you could use 2 sets of output terminals to power the Duet and the third set to connect the capacitor.

What is your travel speed in the slicer?
In your config.g do you have an M204 command to specify print acceleration and travel acceleration?

200mm/s or more for travel moves is probably desirable and acceleration values 4000 to 6000mm/min. Greatly reduces the time available for strings to ooze out.

If you have generated a new config.g, check the maximum speeds set in the M203 commands. These are in mm/min.

Yes you can home using a microswitch and just use the probe for bed compensation. See https://www.duet3d.com/wiki/Configuring_RepRapFirmware_for_a_Cartesian_printer#Homing_Z.

For larger builds, simply interfacing with a UPS unit to trigger a script which would save whatever necessary would be sufficient. A decent UPS can allow you as much 30 minutes of full power, so you can do whatever you need to preserve a print in order to be able to resume it.

It might be worth reformatting the SD card to FAT32 in case it's currently in a format that the firmware doesn't understand.

As it stands you cannot connect the wifi to a network that needs a user name and password. In general this is not a good idea anyway as the DuetWifi is more secure if you keep it on a local network, rather than a large university network. Your best best is to use it in access point mode (you will need to use firmware version 1.19 for this.

Yes, please do tell, as it turns out I have been experiencing this behavior for some time now but just side step it by calling up the web control via an iPad I've always got right next to the machine. It'd be great to hear how you resolved this.

      Thanks, in advance,
      Jonathan
