@StevenL You can buy the Ethernet module separately; it is available to replace a defective Ethernet module on an existing card, but can also be used to convert a WiFi card to Ethernet.

You will need to desolder the WiFi module, and replace it with the Ethernet module; the underlying Duet 2 board is common to both, unlike Duet 3 Mini 5+. You'll need some two 6x1 low profile header pins to solder into the board for the Ethernet module to plug into, and two plastic 5mm high standoffs. I think these are supplied with the replacement module.

There are a couple of threads on doing it, this is the best I think (from 2017):

How are you setting baby steps?

If you're needing to change the baby steps every time to a similar value perhaps best to change the probe trigger height directly?

Please try updating your firmware to 3.4.6

      https://github.com/Duet3D/RepRapFirmware/releases/download/3.4.6/Duet2and3Firmware-3.4.6.zip

There is a new wifi firmware included in there as well.

Do you know if your AP has band steering?

I finally got it to work!
I reset the IR probe (that hangs off the carriage) to be 1mm above the bed. I placed a min zip tie under the probe to set the measured 1mm distance.

Then I followed the steps above. My trigger height was 2.99. There's the 3mm i was looking for!

So I will need to repeat the steps as I do have my nozzle too close now… so I bet the trigger height will be around 2.90.

You can either configure your slicer to generate Z hop, or you can configure your slicer to generate firmware retraction commands and then use M207 to configure the amount of retraction and Z hop.

Also you can adjust Z on the fly, it is called babystepping (a search on the forum will turn up results).

I'd be interested in those files also. Not sure I'm quite ready to build one but I'd love to look at how you did it.

…................P.s. -> hey Ian, would you mind if I essentially copied your machine?

      Cheers.

      Jonathan

No problem but I don't have a build log or complete bill of materials. The entire thing was designed using OpenScad. I'm happy to put all the OpenScad files into a folder on my Google drive and create a shareable link so that you can download them. Note that I'm not by any means a professional when it comes to OpenScad, so some of the files might not be pretty but they get the job done. I haven't got time to go through the machine and catalogue all the various bolt sizes and lengths, but you can work them out from the OpenScad files. Send me a PM and we'll take it from there.

If the height map is all red then that just means that the homed height is not exactly the 250mm that you quoted in the M208 Z parameter. If you want to see what the height map looks like, position the head over the center of the bed and probe there using a single G30 command, before you run G29.

      @T3P3Tony:

Can i just triple check something.

When you have the DuetWifi in access point mode (it says so in the pronterface output you pasted in a previous comment), you then connect to the DuetWifi access point. When you go to 192.168.1.1 in your web browser, do you get a basic screen showing your WiFi network SSID (and maybe other nearby networks?) You then have to enter your WiFi network password and save, then reboot.

SOLVE : I have very large 20/25 nearby wifi SSID on my listing and the Duet wifi attact on the this router … now Duet wifi work perfect on my network .... thanks
