The Tevo Little Monster uses an anodized plate with a machined lip to hold the glass in place with the heater glued to that. That is held in place by some standoffs and M5 bolts. Wouldn't be hard to adapt that idea to the Onyx stack. I like the removable glass on a Max V3 versus the glued in glass on the Tevo.

check the forum, several have documented all the little quirks of the bl touch models and how to get around them. Whitewolf and CAlvinX are pretty much subject matter experts as far as i am concerned…

Question relating precisely to this thread, which is do you see any hurdles presented by trying to commission a diamond hotend on a delta? Particularly weight, influence of effector angle caused by torques imparted by the Bowden tubes which will need to follow along with effector. I guess I'm trying to ask why you haven't used a delta for your awesome work. Do you anticipate problems or challenges due to the kinematics of the machine?

Hi Jonathan,

I know very little about Deltas so probably won't be much help. I'd guess you've already summed up the issues - "weight, influence of effector angle caused by torques imparted by the Bowden tubes". I doubt you'd be able to get the extruders as close to the hot end as I have managed on my corexy with separate extruder gantry so you'd likely have long Bowden tubes. That might help in that they would be less likely to pull the effector out of alignment. I'd imagine that a Delta would be much more sensitive to the weight of the hot end than my CoreXY and the Diamond assembly alone is about 250gms.

That sounds reasonable to me. I don't think that changing the endstop configuration in the homing routine should have any adverse effects.

Once they get the CNC mill installed things should speed up considerably IF it is anything like the mills I am familiar with.

I got it custom milled for me, sketched it up in CAD. I used the holes in the effector plate with stainless standoffs and had it machined to fit the hot end nicely.

Yes, that cooling system looks very interesting! My blower-style radial fan is on order. I'm hoping for my first test to create a simple mount to connect to the T3P3 effector.

Calvin Brian Gilbert did exactly the same with his delta and if it fit's then great unfortunately mine is bigger than any of the IKEA cupboards they do but I have designe some brackets for mine that will allow me to attach sides to it it held on with Magnets

Very nice setup Ian…I plan to use a similar overhead gantry for the extruders on my machine. The length of drag line cables on yours confirms what I thought would be about right for mine.... Keep posting, I enjoy your blog too.
