@macguyver well, what I do is execute again the configuration command. I can be done while printing and measured distance is reset to cero, but also calibration data too. But this would do the reset you want, just put the config line on the layer change gcode.

@bugpwr Yay! The other 2.85mm filament user! I trust that, like me, everyone you know who switched to 1.75mm gave you their old filament, and you just can't bring yourself to throw it away? I'm still trying to get through my stock, some of which is 6-7 years old, and needs a bit of drying before use!

This worked for me. For future reference in case anyone else is using this with Repetier-Server, the pause.g action did not execute even after the change to my M591 command, but it did send a different notification that I was able to catch via Repetier's G-codes response to event and send the pause command from there. I used this regex in Repetier.

@dc42 Good news 🙂 With 3.5rc2, all my sensors appear to work for now 🙂 They collect data that seems right, they change status when inserting filament etc.
I haven't tested yet what happens if they actually detect an issue, but so far so good. Will keep you posted if anything weird comes up. Many thanks 🙂

What version of the firmware are you using.

With version 3.4.x a filament sensor triggers an event which needs to be handled:

Perhaps something is missing from your configuration.

Some tips:

Check filament flow rate is lower than the nozzle can handle . I have e3e Revo Micro and this page has useful:

Try to put the spool over bearings to minimize the pull the spool makes to the sensor

Check the sensor wheel is clean and if don´t cleanit by removing the plastic stuck in it

Check the extruder is not loosing steps

Check the extruder e-steps is correctly calibrated (if you send 100mm to extrude (G1 E100, you measure exactly 100mm )

@demonio669 I bought the new 30mm bondtech's motor and the hardened gears, yesterday I installed it and I made 2 prints without failing.

It was bondtech lgx fault! not filament monitor!

Bondtech lgx does not have enough power to pull the filament.

Haha. Yes the upgrades never stop! I made sure go get a stranded, flat ethernet cable. The issues were present even during the first hour of printing after the upgrades.

Ive got four nema 23’s in a integrated mount with 1605 ballscrews for my z axis. The build plate is a 600mm sq. Piece of 10mm thick Mic6 aluminum w/ pei ontop of it and a 1400w mains powered silicon heater mat. Its pretty stout and the four 23’s will move it at 100mm/sec and pretty impressive jerk/accell settings.

Dyze’s horizon bed sensor looks interesting. I use a precision piezo orion on both of my printers are have had amazing results with them.

@Phaedrux Was able to get this to work on e1stop vs trying to use e0stop for whatever reason.
