Thanks. I presume I can just remove the M555 from the config files then.

Guys, tell me please. I have a similar problem, but it appeared just after I tried to change my ip to another. The question is whether the fault be a proxy server?

The fall back into AP mode is if it can't find the network it is configured to connect to. This is helpful if you move the printer to a new location and have to setup a new network however I hope that in a future firmware release this behaviour can be made optional.

Okay so I did a few tests.
Jeweller's scales on the bed G30 - 15g required to trigger the piezo probe. So not a heavy hit.

I don't have blue painters tape but I have got some white masking tape and I read there is no real difference except blue tape can be removed after it has been attached for longer than white/cream masking tape. It was the first time I have ever printed onto tape, or onto a cold bed! I've always had machines with heated beds.

I had to add 0.2mm z offset in slic3r (so thats G31 Z-0.2 in duet config.g if you prefer to do it that way) to get a perfect first layer with the tape. But I had to use the same offset without the tape printing onto relatively hard print bite.

I used G30 after autocalibration, with the bed at 0 with the tape and 80 deg C with printbite. The nozzle was at 130 deg C for probing both times.

So either the bed temperature change is having the effect of compensating for the thickness of the tape or the tape isn't really making much difference to the probing.
I measured the thickness of the brim in both models I set a 0.36mm first layer height its was 0.35mm for tape, and 0.35mm for no tape.

Editing files sliced with absolute extrusion is tricky because you need to make sure that after the lines you deleted, there are no G1 commands with an E parameter until after the next G92 E0 command. Use relative extrusion instead, it makes editing the files easier and technically it makes far more sense.

My guess is that somewhere around layers 56 or 57 there is something that made a difference.

I just came back much later and turned it on again without issue. But I did discover some suspicious issue with the router - it was on but nothing was connecting to it. It might have gone bad on the duet first, and only later got bad enough to hit the other devices.

Interesting. I started reading up on the Alexa stuff. Still have much more to read and learn, because I've never done something like that before, but I think it would be cool, and want to figure this out.

It sounds to me that your Z probe trigger height is varying with XY position. See https://duet3d.com/wiki/Calibrating_a_delta_printer.

I expect there was a bad crimp connection at one end of the cable. I always test cables after I crimp the connectors.

The only new Duet coming out in the near future is the Duet Ethernet. This will be identical to the Duet WiFi except that an Ethernet interface is provided instead of WiFi.

We don't have a release date for it yet because the beta test phase hasn't started.

      @dklassen:

Once I home Y it doesn't want to move after that when you bump it with the manual movement control. One day at a time I guess. At least everything is moving the correct way and actually stopping when it hits the switch.

What does the web interface (or M114) report for the Y coordinate after you home Y, and is it what you expect? Do you have your Y endstop switch at the low end (i.e. at or near Y=0) of the axis, or the high end (i.e. near Y=200 or whatever the Y dimension of the bed is)? I suspect that your M574 command is telling the firmware that the Y endstop switch is at the wrong end.
