      Depends on when you want it to take effect.

      Putting the command in config.g would be the easiest way.

      @dallash said in what code to modify for z motors ,one on z and one on e1:

      do you see any reason it would not work?

      If it functions as a simple switch, it should work.

      @dallash they are in series on the Duet WiFi, so both get the same current (but half the voltage)

      @deckingman said in Lead screw pitch any thoughts?:

      @Corexy 2mm lead is fine for Z. I actually use 1mn lead screws (single motor, no gearing, 400x400x10 bed). What lead are they supplying? You don't need anti backlash nuts on Z because gravity takes care of backlash. If they are the adjustable type, then you can use them but back off the adjustment because otherwise you are just creating additional friction.
      This thread seems to have veared away from the OPs question which was related to using screw driven X and Y and which have completely different speed and backlash requirements.

      Yes I did veer off there, my apologies.

      I'll start a new thread about my specific lead screw application when my kit arrives.

      Given that the largest heaters are on AC power, the rest of the system doesn't use an excessive amount. I run similar hardware on a 200w PSU without issue. Including a long strip of LEDs.

      This should help you do some more detailed reckoning.

      A Former User?

      Yeah I got that, but 83A will still maintain a hell of an arc if something happens, not to mention the cost of power supply, and wiring will buy you a lot of RCDs

      I edited my original reply, because although 200W would normally be more than enough for a dual-extrusion printer that uses an AC mains bed heater, I don't know the power draw of the LED strips.

      @dallash said in 2 extruders, 2 zmotors ,1 x, and 1 Y:

      ok got the duex 2 on order, is this programmed with the configuration tool in the same way as the Duet2wifi?

      You don't need to do anything special about configuring a Duex expansion board. All you need to do is connect whichever motor you want to use to one of the Duex drivers, then use M584 to map that driver to an axis or extruder. https://duet3d.dozuki.com/Wiki/Gcode#Section_M584_Set_drive_mapping
