This project sounds similar. Measuring the surface of a coin using a duet-controlled machine:

@ander I think you still have the old heating parameters in the M307 commands in config.g. Try replacing them with the parameters from the M307 commands in config-override.g.

@ander said in Bed heating problems:

@deckingman I just changed the "T" parameter and looks like it is working fine no. thanks so much

Yes, it looks like you had this

      M570 H0 P15 T1

So the heater fault tolerance was 1 deg C deviation from set point for 15 seconds which is why you got the fault warning.

@ander with the steep rise at the beginning, then flattening out, along with the inconsistent heating cycles (they get quicker as time progresses), I’d say your thermistor is still too closely coupled to your heater, and as before, it’s going to be difficult to get a reliable tune.

I know some users have drilled a hole in the edge of their heated bed, and installed the thermistor there.

      Hi there
Yes, i already did the PID tunning, i have an E3D with a sock, but the weird thing is that the malfunction happens only while autoleveling, if there is no temp error after autoleveling the printing goes perfect, the temperature is very stable.
referring to the filament monitoring, i tried like you said and looks like works 🙂

Please update to firmware 3.1.1 by uploading this file https://github.com/Duet3D/RepRapFirmware/releases/download/3.1.1/Duet2and3Firmware-3.1.1.zip

That should get you up to date with firmware and web interface.

Then for your probe, what type of probe is it?

      Hi there!!
I was gone for a while on that proyect but i´m back again.
Has anyone tried to make this setup work so far?
I would love some help in therms of what kind of program could i use to decide where to engrave and where not, and if duet wifi can be used for that purpouse for sure. Also, i would love to know if i´ll have some help from the developers if any modification on the firmware would be needed,.
I was also thinking on using that sistem on a 5 axis cnc milling machine.
The 0 of both machines the need to be preconfigured so we can mill and then engrave in one go without loosing any reference.
      Thanks

The first thing to check is that the screws in the VIN terminal block are still tight, because when you suddenly get multiple issues it is often a power problem,. The Z axis issue (if it's not a power problem) could be caused by a bad crimp connection in the Z motor wiring. Or if you have dial Z leadscrews then they may have got out of sync, resulting in binding. Loss of fan PWM and even on/off control usually means that the fan mosfet has failed. The most common cause of failure is a temporary short circuit between the fan output pins. Regarding the BLTouch, I suggest you test whether it still deploys and retracts reliably.
