@droftarts Oh crap.. I just realized that I sent M122 while disconnected.... So that would explain "didn't return anything". As in hitting enter at the end of M122 restarted the serial link.

Sorry,. I guess we'll never know what it thought it was doing ๐Ÿ™‚

@droftarts Dropping R down to 480 allows me (so far) reliable initial heating, with only about 0.8C overshoot on the initial run to 70C. That is fully acceptable for me.

So, thank you for pointing me into the proper direction. ๐Ÿ™‚

@janjoh Only pausing (via M25) may reduce the number of moves in the buffer. M0 and several other codes wait for all pending moves to finish first.

It seem to be a TPU thing. WHen loading Ninjaflex, it seem to just not grip the filament enough, leading to these unreasonable values.

Well, I guess I can live with that..

@dc42 I probably should ditch the mesh calibration. I did use it for the Ziflex build surfaces.. because they did strange things. Now MOSTLY using WhamBam spring steel.

      Thank you.

@janjoh please try the new firmware at https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fo/p0136wx04h8xf6ejwdnn9/h?rlkey=efrfwyb6o5tqid11gustz3uvy&dl=0 and use the new K parameter in your M950 command that defines the fan connection.

I thought it was to "lock" the fan speed.

I'm quite sure it was for doing that too.

@Phaedrux Thank you for the comment on refurbed units. I do however think that I will not put any more money into smart effector until (maybe) such a time as the mythical updated version may become available. I have a fairly reliable machine, and I know how to use a feeler gauge. ๐Ÿ™‚

      @dc42

      I FOUND THE LAST NOISE!!!!

And I am just groaning now.

So, I tried to mount one of the rubber stepper dampeners just out of frustration. Just to try something new.

When assembling it, I realized that every time i brushed or plunked the X-tower belt, the noise was there. Every time.
I now decided to not touch ANY moving parts, but systematically listning after the source of the noise.

I went over the entire frame and could not pin point it. While listening to the upper part Z tower I realised that the sound was not coming from there, but actually from my other ear. Which was really turned towards the bed....

      And the effector...

      And the fan on it...

      Gently touching it...

      Silence...

In hind sight, I do not understand why I thought that that fan could not be the source of THAT kind of noise, It just sounded to metallic in my ears...

      And here's the culprit.
      https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K9sxuzjJ0eE

I feel so stoopid now... Time to reassemble everything back to what it was. But in all fairness, going over the machine was needed...
