yes, that's what I thought.
I've been spending a lot of time playing with my duet, which is under the bed, so I decided to put G29 in bed macro. I guess I don't need it anymore.
i guess I don't need to run G32 before every prints either.
Well for the Z offsets i do it manually. It's fairly easy to do. To get the bed level i use the same method as BCN3D do by using both Z microswitches and working out the difference. It's manual in respect to working out which knob to twist but it's not a big issue.
Those settings are saved in web browser cookies. So, to have them on all devices, you'll have to set them on each device. If they don't survive a reboot, then those cookies are being deleted.
With RepRapFirmware you don't recompile the firmware for CoreXY, you use the standard binary file and just set up the config.g file for CoreXY. If your config.g file isn't set up for CoreXY, that would explain the problem.
In firmware 1.17 you can run M500 after auto tuning. This will write the necessary M307 command to the config-override.g file. Then use the M501 command near the end of config.g to run config-override.g.
Ah, a mixture of imperial and metric - that explain things. Anyway, if Z goes up a down by the amount that you tell it, then the steps/mm must be correct.
Haha yep it's weird. I found out that this upgrade has NOT been installed on my pb… so I'm going to order this part. One really nice thing is that it'll increase the Z range of my machine to 290mm! Keeping my configuration simpler (all metric) will be a nice benefit too.
The amount of retraction you need depends on the length of the Bowden tube. With no Bowden tube, 1mm is probably enough. Otherwise I find about 1% of the Bowden tube length + 1mm about right, using 1.75,mm PLA. I set the retraction speed high, typically 3600mm/min.
Ian Rommies issue is that the Effector tilt causes the probe to trigger at differing height around the bed and unfortunately this negates the use of the Bed Comp anyway and the prob will be just the same with a BLTouch.
I think DJ's Piezo idea will do away with that error as it uses the Nozzle tip itself as the probe point.
I wonder how difficult it would be to use Strain gauges on a
CB material or even better a Carbon Fibre effector with a set of Hayden's rod's?
Thank you so much Sniffle, that was the problem, everything appears to be working fine, although I don't understand why I need to use P3 as the mode and the wiring is reversed from what is shown in the instructions.
Yes I plan to support 2, 3 and 4 motor auto level. It probably won't make it into the 1.18 release, but may be in 1.19. You will still need a Z probe to use it.
…...............I'm using optical slot switches for dual z max leveling.................
That's interesting. Are you say you have a separate switch for each screw or each side of the bed or have I misunderstood?
@DC42. David, is this something that would be possible i.e a separate end stop switch for each screw rather than using the probe? I only ask because I use 3DLac on my bed and it seems to affect the reflectivity so it'd be nice not to have to use a probe of any sort.
