you might as well remove it now, the others will work fine without it as the communication for the 2660 is in parallell with SPI

ah, yeah, it seemed the manufacturer only have two distributors for their sensor and not using digikey/mouser/etc, not sure if its easy get a hold of a one-off. if you go with the plan to scavenge parts of another board pay attention to the solder temp and times listed for the sensor.

as for the passive components, unless there is a note on the schematic just pick the cheapest with the correct resistance and footprint. if there are special conciderations like tolerance, power rating or temperature coefficients its usually noted somewhere. like you see the inductor specifies 100Mhz.

@dc42 Currently the fans are 12v because I am using the Noctua 40mm fans and they do not come in 24v versions. Am I correct in thinking that the switching for the fans is done on the GND though?

@oliof I am currently using a 15 conductor cable and have the wires for the stepper coming out separate from the DB connector. I would prefer to have them in the connector but the DB15 connectors that I bought ware just so big that it really compromised the design intent of the extruder. Here is how I am currently running.

15 conductors:

4 for heater
2 for Thermistor
2 for HS Fan
2 for Part Fan
4 for Stepper
That comes to 14 of the 15 used. So now I have come up with a way to add a filament runout sensor built into the extruder just above the drive gears so I was thinking if I can use just one power wire for the fans that will free up one more wire to have two free.
Here are some pictures of my design. It is based on a bondtech BMG but is a highly modified design.

This is still in the prototype phase and have been refining the design over the past few months but I have been printing with no issues now for about two months and been able to print PC with no jams or heat creep.
The tool mounting and locking system is based on a design by PoofJunior over on Thingiverse that he did for his Jubilee printer.

Yep that was the whole issue did two prints last night and all went successfully.

Ha! our comments "crossed in the night". Good that it is working.

This one I think is about 3-4 year old and has been running since then but it is not a white one. I do have some stepper motor cables that run over the top of the board, I an thinking tomorrow that I will re-route those to have them go around the board rather than over it and see if that helps.

So far though has been running all day with no issues.

Update
I found that if I move M584 U4 above all other commands in the config.g that the issue goes away. I am going to try the P3 though to hide the U axis but just have not gotten around to it yet. Thanks for eveyone's help.

OMG, it is always something so simple, actually I didn't think it mattered which motor went to which connector for the X & Y on a Core XY machine but that fixed it. Now I know.

Yes, it's a bit confusing because on a CoreXY, both motors contribute to pure X or pure Y moves so they don't actually have X and Y motors. They are often referred to as Alpha and Beta. I believe on the next generation Duet boards, the stepper drivers will simply be marked numerically, rather then X,Y, Z etc...

Man it has been way to long since I have had to edit a config, I am missing some of the most obvious stuff.. lol. Thanks for your help Veti!

I sort of figured it out last night at about 1am..
Duet Wifi
Firmware 2.02
So after fiddling with the config, and checking printer wiring I decided to come back to it the next day and just start a print.
Then I noticed that the print was not printing right. It appeared that it was printing in spiral mode as the nozzle kept getting higher and higher from the bed as it was going around the print on the same layer. By the time the first layer was done it was about 5mm from the bed but the Z height on the DWC showed 0.24. So I tried changing some settings in S3D thinking I messed something up in there that usually is not turned on but still the same thing.

So here is what fixed everything, as a last resort I decided to reinstall the firmware. Bingo everything is working again. No idea why or what could happen to the firmware to cause this but now the extruder purge works again and I can manually extrude and retract from the DWC.

I feel like an idiot, in S3D I did not realize that you have to set the filament diameter for both extruders. I thought it was a global setting, so extruder 1 was using 1.75 and extruder 2 was using 3.00.
