Customer continues to refuse to use the forum, despite being directed here. They state:

Why is it the adapter board is plugged into the same plug that feeds that board I sent back, and the adapter board works perfectly.

I would hypothesize that the improperly crimped/improperly seated pins in the connectors you crimped make contact sometimes, but don't make contact other times. Regardless, as you can see from the photo I posted, the scanning Z-probe powers on and works.

Customer further states:

Will you send it back or send another one?

Well, definitely can't send a new one since the old one works as shown. But if you'd like, can send an order checkout link for shipping costs of sending this back to you. Can't keep covering shipping costs on warranty claims of non-faulty products, though. Let me know if you'd like the board back and I'll send that link.

Customer's board arrived today, and I tested it - it powers on fine, and LED flashes as expected. See attached photo.

@Phaedrux @droftarts let me know if you'd like me to do any further testing, but my opinion is that the customer's faulty crimps are the root cause.

I made a 4 pin JST PA female plug to snap into the duet 3 scanning probe. As you can see the 5 vdc red power is on, >green can is on and the blue is on steady. It is supposed to flash with communications which I have not seen yet. >When near the bed the Cartographer 3D V3 turns blue. When 3 or more mills away it turns off.

Point is the adapter board is using the same wires and connections and works.

I pointed out to the customer that several of his crimps are improperly seated, he's using a cloned toolboard, and that again, he needs to use the forum for support.

@oliof No, I'm referring to the SZP boards that OP claims keep arriving DOA. Have never and will never sell Cartographer.

Just to chime in here as Polyneutron21 bought the boards from me (Filastruder), have tested our stock and they test OK.

With a 2.2kohm pull up and cold temperatures resulting in 208kohms of resistance, you're asking the ADC to accurately measure about 0.03 volts relative to the 3.3v rail.

3D printer thermistors/boards are designed for accuracy around 200C, (at this point, thermistor and pull-up are similar so there's loads of accuracy/resolution), they don't have much accuracy at low temperatures. I wouldn't sweat it.

@mitch Lots of places to shift electronics (ebay, craigslist, offerup marketplace), I'm in agreement about saving it from a landfill. But seems really disrespectful to come here to do it. Just my 2c.

Is that a genuine product? It sounds like a clone. Super bold to come onto the official Duet3D site, funded by purchases of official Duet3D hardware, to sell a cloned product.

You're effectively asking someone to do development work for you for free. You've gotten a fair bit of (free) help so far. If that's not enough, you could consider contacting Duet3D to set up paid development work.

Seems like another possibility is that the ribbon cable isn't fully seated, photos would be useful.

Posting the aforementioned photo is a path to a solution, as is posting the changes you've made to the code.

You're getting a reply from the lead firmware author. Maybe a little appreciation for that would be helpful too.

The LCD I tested with has a SSD1963QL9AU019AF chip.

@PDBeal This is the first I've heard of these incompatibilities, lots and lots of these sold. Certainly not meaning to hide anything, and happy to publish any official incompatibilities on the product page. First, need to ascertain whether the incompatibility is firmware based or PCB based. What say you @T3P3Tony ?

PDBeal - I'll add that these PanelDue PCBs are EOL'ed, less than 10 remaining at Duet3D and only a few here. So hesitating to buy another probably means just not buying another, since they'll be OOS soon.

Just to close the loop on this, PanelDue PCB was received and tested fine. Did need to reflash the firmware as it arrived seemingly in an erased state, but no issues after flashing, see photo:

Your config.g file has a M552 S1, which tells the board to enable networking as a client, not an access point. Board's just doing what you're telling it to
