On Slic3r PE, you can set a density for each filament type and the slicer will calculate weight of filament used to print when it slices.

I used nominal density values and the printed object weights are generally pretty close to the estimated weights. Note that any support material is included in the printed weight.

By the way, the lighting in the above, purposely bringing out the flaws, makes it look like this is not a good printer. Just to be a little more fair, here is something printed on this printer, photographed and lit more "normally". It is, in fact, the object being printed in the photo that shows the upgrade parts.

The 1.21RC1 release has an absolute mode (R0) in the M290 command that allows you to do that.

Testing wifi so far…

Restarted duet 10 times, 5 worked, 5 failed (50% of the time...).

Interestingly, 1 fails, 1 works, always doing more or less the same (turn on, wait until connects or fails, wait ~20s, turn off, wait ~10s, turn on...). At least, works more often than before...

I moved back to 1.19.2 (both, firmware and wifi), and repeated the testing 6 times: 100% connection success

It shows "Connected", then "Wifi Module Started" (this is not shown in 1.20), then "Wifi Module connected to Access point" (ping start answering), then 5 seconds after this, ping start to fail, and screen shows "Error retrieving wifi status message" and then connects again with "Wifi Module connected to access point" and don't fail anymore. After the third reboot, "Error retrieving wifi status message" didn't show again, and wifi works perfectly fine.

Moved to 1.21RC1 and again, one works, one fails... so I don't think this is hw related :S

Can I give you anything else for diagnostics?

Its not just that. Its same like in a vehicle. Its nicer to control things via phisical buttons rather then lcd touch screen.

A vehicle is a completely different environment, you need to feel the buttons so you can keep your eyes on the road.

The latest beta PanelDue firmware provides a lot more characters.

With PC works in this way but not with tablet. Here I´d wish a extra button to use the function

i have 3 printer with duet. so the best solution is to connect fan 0 connector all cooling fans. looks more easy and rigit solution 🙂

I'm glad you solved it. One possible cause I didn't mention was the wires between the PSU and the Duet being too thin, so that when the bed heater turns on the voltage drop in those wires is too great.

If the same message keeps appearing, that usually means that you had another device connected to the Duet via the network and you didn't disconnect it before turning it off.

Anyhow it could be interesting (for me XD) to have this removable for future options. On the iPhone is quite annoying to just change the fan since it’s at the end of the screen, you change, pops, then you need to wait or press the x, then you can finally adjust the fan then it pops…

I think is nice to have a last print status with print time etc (really nice btw) but also I would be ok with this info not popping up and just staying on the gcode console log. Or just one option to choose? Not mission critical indeed hahahaha anyway thanks! Duet3D rocks!

Glad its working, as I learned at university, common things occur commonly.

I've a 0.4mm nozzle and a 0.25mm spare that only used once. I've been printing since 2013 and never found an excuse to install the smaller one.

I think that the 0.4mm nozzle has the perfect speed-resolution ratio.

Is the Z in your M92 correct now? If you use DWC and command the Z movement 100mm, how far does it move?

Yes I am pretty sure it is but I will double check that it moves 100mm when commanded.

That can happen if your steps / mm aren't easily divisible by your layer height.

For example, we had a 16T pulley on our Z stepper, belt driven to a 30T pulley. Since the math came out funny, every third layer or so was smooshed. We switched to a 16T / 32T pulley, our steps/mm are now 1 step = 0.01mm, and everything's happy.

I don't think this is an issue as the the leadscrews are T8's and should give me increments of 0.04mm (if my maths is correct).

Would print speed make a big difference on a small test print?
