Personally I think it's a great shame that the RepRap forums have been hijacked by people who build machines which are neither "Rep" nor "Rap" and anyone proposing the use of any printed parts will be faced with derision and ridicule. IMO, RepRap printers have their place alongside high precision, machines which require access to full metal working machinery as well as high cost precision parts to produce. They just fulfil a different role for different people.
I agree that there should be no derision or ridicule in the direction of people building printers out of printed parts or wood, or fishing line, or Ikea furniture or hanging from the walls on wires. Its all very interesting. But Reprap has evolved into the more precise 3D printers many of us use now to some extent so I can't see any issue with reprap forum evolving with it, so long as its inclusive. Perhaps we should suggest a sub forum for as-self-replicating-as-possible, and another for high-precision-machines.
