I just cut off the connector and crimped a new one on and the readings are solid when pulling on the wires. Wouldn't you know, it was the only one I didn't change when I went from Smoothie to Duet.

Torque is not affected by microstepping. The confusion arises because various sites publish incremental torque per microstep - which of course does go down as microstepping increases, because the change in movement angle per microstep goes down.

You can select which motors to use interpolation on if you wish, just use two separate M350 commands. But if you use x16 microstepping then I am not aware of any situation in which it is better to turn interpolation off.

That's right, you can't connect a camera directly to the Duet WiFi.

The 7 inch fire tablet or similar should work well. I use a 4 or so years old nexus 7 inch tablet which i think is a higher resolution. You can use chrome's Dev tools to look and see what the web interface looks like at different screen sizes.

BTW, I recently discovered that although the Duet is happy with just having the M82 in the start code to select absolute extrusion mode, it's also a good idea to also have G92 E0 to reset the length extruded so far to zero. This is because some non-Duet printers (e.g. Marlin based machines) seem to fail to zero that when a print is started and so the extruder gets very confused on the second print of the day!

Just look up the datasheet for that mosfet on Google. See the link in my previous response for the part number.

Personally I think it's a great shame that the RepRap forums have been hijacked by people who build machines which are neither "Rep" nor "Rap" and anyone proposing the use of any printed parts will be faced with derision and ridicule. IMO, RepRap printers have their place alongside high precision, machines which require access to full metal working machinery as well as high cost precision parts to produce. They just fulfil a different role for different people.

I agree that there should be no derision or ridicule in the direction of people building printers out of printed parts or wood, or fishing line, or Ikea furniture or hanging from the walls on wires. Its all very interesting. But Reprap has evolved into the more precise 3D printers many of us use now to some extent so I can't see any issue with reprap forum evolving with it, so long as its inclusive. Perhaps we should suggest a sub forum for as-self-replicating-as-possible, and another for high-precision-machines.

Ah…didn't know a new DWC had dropped.

Yes, the file loads and displays correctly with 1.15.

The new DuetWiFiServer will take the access point ssid and password from a file on the SD card, so this will no longer be an issue. Currently, you need to either get out of range of your router or temporarily turn off wifi on the router.

The network connectivity from Cura is specific to Ultimaker printers so you need to save the file and then upload it using DWC.

Actually, there is a Cura plugin that connects to Octoprint, so there is a way. I just haven't had time to hack into the code and figure it out for the Duet yet. If someone else wants to give it a shot, the Octoprint plugin is on gcode.

That looks OK to me. I don't see any reason why G32 would turn your heaters off, so I suspect that you are getting a heating fault. Are any messages displayed on the GCode Console page of the web interface? Does the web interface show either of the heaters as being in an error state?

I just have a PI with the PI Cam and std OS with Cam support and that works as I say there is a thread on here somewhere and a Pi (Mine is an early one) witha PiCam is prob about the same sort of price as an IP WebCam
