@wilriker Yeah I share those frustrations. I think Dozuki is really focused around guides rather than wiki pages... but it takes a long time to write a guide and its not appropriate for everything. Reference material is still better as a wiki.

I'm glad you got it working. When upgrading firmware, you should read the upgrade notes for the new version and all the versions you skipped. The particular item that you missed is that the default deployprobe.g and retractprobe.g files must be deleted.

Since I'm designing an enclosure for a new printer, wich I intend to produce and sell, can you share the new dimensions the 5i will have or is it too soon?

Replacing the TR5 did fix my issue.
I'll spend more attention now to not shorten it again as I don't want to solder something tiny like that again ☺

White led draw 60mA on 1/6 of a meter (on a strip of 10 led out of 60) so we can say 360mA per meter and as you understood each color draw 1/3 of that so 120mA per color per meter.

So I'll stick with my initial choice with your recommendation about resistor. I'll post a picture once done 😄

No I don't think you need worry about that. I just tested a board on my bench with USB power only and I get similar results: 1.7V across the VIN terminals on my multimeter, and DWC also shows 1.7V. My guess is that the TMC2660 drivers leak a small amount of current between their +3.3V and VIN pins.

If the fans don't work even when connected to the always-on fan connectors, then the fan voltage supply has fused. This happens if you short the two pins of one of the fan outputs together.

To fix it:

First check that you have the jumper in the correct position in the 3-pin fan voltage selector jumper block. If you have a version 1.03 or later Duet, check the 1A blade fuse visually or with a multimeter, and replace it if it has blown. If you have an older Duet, use a multimeter to check that there is continuity between the pin at the VIN end of the fan voltage selector jumper block, and the VIN+ terminal. if there is no continuity, then a via in the PCB trace between those pins has fused. You can bypass it using a piece of wire on the back of the PCB. There is another thread about this issue that includes a diagram. Before applying power again, check that you have resolved the short that caused the problem.

If the Z probe produced a digital output, the only readings you will get will bge 0 and 1000. It's only for analog-output sensors that you can get readings in between.

I've just moved the power jumper to use external 5V, powered up with the 24V supply and USB and everything seems to work ok! I'll find a 5V supply and a relay and hook them up so i can control the 24V from the web interface.

There's obviously something damaged with the VIn to 5V circuitry but I'm happy enough with this workaround.

According to https://www.olimex.com/Products/Robot-CNC-Parts/StepperMotors/SM-17HS4023/ that motor has a rated current of 0.7A. So I suggest you reduce the current to 500mA.
