I do this as well because I have a slight warp in one of the corners of the bed, so if mesh isn't active, there is a chance I could run the nozzle into the raised area if I'm moving the head around very close to the bed surface.

I think it would be best practice to clear any bed transformations before trying to reset Z0 with homing or doing a G29, etc.

Based on that thread it would appear it's a bug that's been fixed in 3.2

That's good to know.

It is hard to understand all of the possible interactions and what conditions should exist prior to doing certain things.

Hopefully all such operations are as foolproof as possible, if not now in the future.

Getting stiff and hard to start but not getting noisy does sound to me like contamination. I've noticed my hotend fan would really like to suck in any stray hair of filament hanging around the bed area. I expect dust will get in as well. Dust seems to be what usually kills fans in electronic devices. If they don't choke, then they may make it all the way to rattling old age.

Hi @dc42, i have the same issue as mentioned above. can you eleborate how can i use a multimeter to verify if i have vssa fuse blown? i am pretty sure all wiring are ok and now i am getting open circuit error message. thanks a ton!

It should read no more than a few ohms. If instead it's very high, the VSSA fuse has blown, which will make all thermistors read 2000C.

When you run it the second time, does it apply 0.3mm correction to both leadscrews, or to just one? If it's applying it to both leadscrews then it's just trying to correct a Z=0 position error. This is most likely happening because you home Z at bed centre, and bed centre differs in height from the two probe point in bed.g by 0.3mm. Your height map file may confirm that.
