The default in firmware 2.02 is that stealthchop is turned off at very low speeds, to ensure reliable printing without skipping steps. That's why the motors are now noisier when moving. You can use the M569 command to increase that speed.

I'm looking for M112 behavior that saves the print state so I can resume it.

If someone is getting squeezed in between the printhead and a wall (at 1.5 ton pressure) , 0.5sek is a long time, so using pause for emergency stops is really not a good option.

Using M112 stops instant, but freeze the board so I cannot save the print state.

What I hope for is a M112 version that

stops everything like current M112 Saves print state so the print can be resumed Freeze board

It's not a problem to have to re-home the printer when restarting.

The default view when you land on the forum page is to show most recent posts, so pinning doesn't show there obviously. But it seems to work correctly from within the sub forums.

If you can build the mechanical parts ot do it, the auto eject/scrape can be done in the stop.g file, or in a macro called from it.

There is another thread about a web interface that controls multiple Duets. That could be extended to support job queueing.

It could be that the 2.4GHz spectrum has become more congested where you are. Changing WiFi channel on your router may help.

@deckingman I'm the one that admitted almost a year ago that the "legit" Duet is dirty cheap for what it offers (I compare to a similarly powerful controller and the 5 higher-end/lower current stepper drivers, not the cheap Arduino with Pololu boards), something like 20% of the price with the closest competitor. I do myself a lot of software and I know the rather personal price you end up paying when really care about the end result. And I appreciate that!

I might have been the first WorkBee owner that went the Duet way. I also intend to document a Chinese 6040 conversion to Duet for a friend. It is the least as I can return to the community for the decently priced solution. I know that documenting the 6040 conversion is a double edged sword... those Chinese CNCs are known to be quite decent for many jobs if you spend time to re-build the whole machine (unscrew everything, clean and re-grease parts, put everything back together, while insuring proper alignment) and then replace the electronics. The only things that might be worth keeping are the PSU (if it is a 24V one) and the VFD (if it is a decent one). In the end you might start seeing 6040s on AliExpress delivered with Chinese Duets, but that's life!

@dc42 Yes that was my first assumption. As far as I can tell, the connections are good. I ran PLA 190°C and ABS 235°C back to back. The PLA ran fine for hours, where the ABS would fail within seconds of starting the print. If it were wiring I assume that it would be erratic for both situations. Also it would be erratic when changing filaments (240°C). The issue only occured during printing.

This fault has been reported before, and is already fixed in my latest internal build.

I think I've noticed something similar to this. If I pin the fan speed in the DWC the paneldue doesn't update the fan speed display to match the slider in the DWC.

Bit the bullet a week back and have gotten through maybe 10 hours of successful printing without the short to ground issue.

Not going to mess around with Stealthchop/Spreadcycle for now since the machine runs quiet enough.

Having some other trouble which I'll start a new thread over.

dc42 Thank you for your response.
The DWC was showing 1000 in the Z probe.
After reading more about M558 I changed the I parameter from I0 to I1 in the config.g file and that solved the problem.
So a big thank you dc42 very helpful.

You could send the M108 command to cancel heating before you press cancel. I'll give some thought to making the firmware do this automatically when it gets a cancel request.
