This is the printer I recently swapped out a duet2 for duet3. Still tweaking things and haven't gotten to the point of backing it up yet. But as I am close probably should have backed it up two weeks ago. 😞

      Thanks for the help!

I have never tested stall detection on the extruder but would if I used a Bowden Extruder. I was just trying to have the printer rehome X and Y if the fan shroud or BLtouch got stuck on a part of the print that bent upwards, but never finished dialing it in.

It looks like I figured it out....
When I tried to install the plugin service it said it was already installed... (which makes sense as there were already other plug ins installed/working).

I found this was missing from cmdline.txt.... and I just needed to run this one line to fix it...
      sudo bash -c 'echo " lsm=apparmor" >> /boot/cmdline.txt'

Duet3D and dc42 have gone to great lengths to keep Duet2 boards working well. There was a discussion about removing some of the rarely used kinematics from Duet2 builds to make space for future features. So unless those are kinematics you need, Duet2 will still provide and continues to be a feature-competetive board. I.e., there is no need to upgrade if you have one that serves your requirements.

For new machines, I'd probably opt for Duet3 mini over Duet2 just because of the expandability options. Duet3 6HC is a bit over the top for most printers, but may be a better pick than Duet2 for CNC mills and the like.

@bluedust I can’t preview the GCODE right now, but it looks as if ‘Coasting’ is enabled in Cura.

I would recommend toggling the settings visibility in Cura to ‘all’ and searching for ‘Coasting’. Ensure it is disabled.

Coasting is a way in Cura to emulate Pressure Advance and under/over extrusion at layer start/stops - a way to eliminate blobbing.

Thanks for that info. Even though I am not using a Voron, it still looks like something I should review to help me get SS working/produce good prints.

The Voron and Rat Rigs are pretty similar so the settings should work pretty well!

      @phaedrux
That was my thought. It was just finished off.
You pretty much confirm that by verifying this situation was never seen before.

This is what I am currently thinking in regards to possible wear on the SD.
This SD card is a 16GB SAN Disk, and I may have only deleted a large number the gcode files printed 3 times over the last two years so there wasn't a lot of read/write/delete actions (except for the log file, and that was also never deleted).
So the config and other sys files were the only thing that had any read/writes that would matter and they are not really changed much once the printer is working. So unless there was some sort of wear occurring (like caching space) that I was unaware of on the same physical block location on the SD card, I would guess it failed prematurely.

      Thanks!

@bluedust said in 1lc board stopped working, but still responsive to m122:

For this requirement, I am assume wattage (dissipating heat?) doesn't really matter and the smaller the physical size of the resister the better, but didn't want to assume and asking for confirmation.

      I think that's a safe assumption.

Correct. I don't need audio for any reason on the Pi. It is only used to control the Duet3.

@bluedust i had a Pringles chip I could not figure out.
It turned out the high spots of the bed were actually low ends of my guide rods.

Its a bit counterintuitive, but the probe hits early resulting in a high reading when it's actually flat.
make sure your reference surface that you are measuring from is known.
      good luck

get small enough ferrules and it'll be fine. (optionally fold the wire to make up the lacking cross section, then trim the ferrule to length and remove the plastic insulation)
