      @c310 I’d blame poor contact of the pin to crimp, or a poor crimp. I doubt the board, motor or driver are to blame. Remove the crimp from the housing and inspect where the heat has come from.

      @c310 agc should be <100. I would check the assembly and potentially smooth the bottom of the lid part so the pcb sits slightly closer to the magnet.

      @c310 the MAX31855 chip is for interfacing to thermocouples only. It cannot interface to PT100 or PT1000 sensors.

      For PT100 sensors we make a similar daughter board that uses the MAX31865 chip.

      I have a similar need, but for a sketch: it's a laser engraving gcode about which I lost the corresponding drawing (and the toolpath is a mess).

      @c310 the change from previous versions to v2.0 was to increase the strength of the magnet which has allowed us to have more confidence in users printing there own housings. We may bring out a assembled version with a housing if we can get the housings manufactured at a reasonable cost. but we are not planning on changing anything functional with the design.

      I think the confusion is the PCBs are version 1.7b, its just the magnetic assembly that is now v2.

      Our European resellers should have stock of this as a kit - if your favourite reseller does not then please encourage them to stock up šŸ˜„ (I just checked a few (1,2,3) and they did have stock).

      @dc42 said in PT500 - anyone have used it?:

      @c310, a PT500 would preferably use a lower value series resistor than a PT1000. So I don't recommend it. OTOH, if you find a PT2000 then that should be OK.

      thanks!

      @garyd9, from the symptoms you describe I am fairly sure that your effector has the old firmware, and reprogramming with version 2.01 firmware would fix it.

      @Phaedrux

      thank you for the hint. is my smarteffector (v.1.3 i think) board goes crazy?

      in the documentations it is mentioned that after sending " M672 S131:131" LED should flash 5 times. my does not flash at all. However LED itself works: when i probe the bed with hands - LED flashes when nozzle touches the bed. And it does flashes twice when boot.

      in my case smarteffector is configured before G31 in RRF3.2.2 by M558 P8 C"zprobe.in" R0.4 F1200

      should i replace smarteffector board or it is still can be reprogrammed ???

      @c310 said in heater cartridge degraded and "lost power":

      @dc42 it had happened again šŸ˜ž are there any parts on the Duet WiFi board that potentially have degraded?

      The only things I can think of that might have degraded in a way that reduced output power are the soldering of the heater output connector to the PCB, and the soldering of the main VIN fuse holder to the PCB. If those joints are bad, the problem should be easily visible.
